00:12The US and allies, said to include Arab nations, have launched the first airstrikes against
00:18the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant militants in Syria, the Pentagon said. Spokesman Rear
00:24Admiral John Kirby said fighter and bomber jets and Tomahawk missiles were used in the
00:28attack. The strikes were expected as part of President Barack Obama's pledge to degrade
00:33and destroy ISIL, which has taken huge swaths of Syria and Iraq.
00:38An overwhelming majority of Dubai residents said they feel safe, protected, happy and
00:43satisfied with family life while living in the Emirate, a new government survey has revealed.
00:49Some 96% of Dubai residents said they feel safe and protected from crime in Dubai in
