00:09top stories at this hour.
00:12Celebrities, political leaders and the masses have rallied in New York and across the globe,
00:17demanding urgent action on climate change, with organizers saying 600,000 people hit
00:22the streets. Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, UN chief Ban Ki-moon and mayor Bill de Blasio
00:28all marched down New York's 6th Avenue as part of what was proclaimed the largest climate
00:32protest worldwide in history.
00:36Rival groups in Yemen have signed a UN-brokered peace deal after al-Houthi rebels seized the
00:40government's headquarters and the Prime Minister resigned following raging violence in the
00:44capital. United Nations envoy Jamal bin Omar said the agreement calls for the formation
00:50of a new government within one month.
00:53Nearly 10 billion dirhams worth of new projects were launched in Dubai on the first day of
00:57Cityscape Global, confirming the developers were looking at the long term and not distracted
01:02by the current slowdown. The figure represents four billion dirhams plus on two projects
01:08from Nakhil, including the three-tower cluster on its flagship Palm Development, and 1.7
01:13billion dirhams from Union Properties on three key additions to its project portfolio. DR
01:19launched the massive 5.5-million-square-foot township with the intention to create a brand
01:23new midtown for the city.
01:27Sports and football. Barcelona overcame a missed penalty from Lionel Messi to return
01:31to the top of La Liga with a 5-0 away win to 10-man Levante last night. They now lead
01:36second place Sevilla by two points, with champions Atletico Madrid a further two points adrift
01:41and Real Madrid six back in seventh.
01:45And Emma Watson continued her work as a United Nations goodwill ambassador at the launch
01:49of the HeForShe campaign in New York, where she delivered a speech calling for men to
01:54play a greater role in ending gender inequality. At the United Nations headquarters, she revealed
01:59the sexism she's experienced throughout her life, saying it started at the age of
02:03eight when she was branded bossy for wanting to direct school plays.
02:08And finally, the weather. The daytime temperature will be 41 degrees Celsius, dropping to 28
