00:09the top stories at this hour. Dubai police arrested 6,840 people between January and
00:14August this year who were wanted locally. Most of the wanted people were incriminated
00:19in money-related crimes such as bounced cheques and breach of trust, while some were involved
00:23in serious criminal cases. In total, those arrested owed more than 1.79 billion dirhams
00:29police said. Polls have opened across Scotland in a referendum that will decide whether the
00:34country leaves its 370-year-old union with England and becomes an independent state.
00:40More than 2,600 polling places opened at 10 a.m. UAE time Thursday and will close at 1
00:45a.m. Friday morning. Turnout is expected to be high with more than 4.2 million people
