00:27Dubai has taken another giant step to provide clean drinking water to underprivileged people
00:32around the world by announcing a $1 million global award for research centers to find
00:37sustainable and innovative solutions to water problems.
00:41His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister
00:45of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, announced the launch of a $1 million global award and also
00:51set up the UAE Water Research Agency to find sustainable solutions to water scarcity around
00:57the world.
00:58The announcement was made in conjunction with the UAE Water Aid Campaign, which has so far
01:03raised 180 million dirhams, which will provide clean drinking water to 7 million people across
01:08the world.
01:10Israel has warned thousands of Palestinians in eastern and northern Gaza to leave their
01:14homes as it continues airstrikes.
01:17The warning came after an Egyptian truce initiative failed.
01:20Hamas initially rejected the truce, but an official later said it would consider a political
