00:12Mimaropa region.

00:14Meanwhile, the Implementing Rules and Regulations, or IRR, of the new Government Procurement

00:19Act, known as Republic Act 12009, outlines procurement strategies and rules for digital

00:27procurement to ensure a more streamlined, responsive, and modernized process.

00:40The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD, has provided P550,000 as initial

00:47assistance to families affected by heavy rains and flooding in Mimaropa due to a prevailing

00:52shear line.

00:53A total of 692 family food packs, or FFPs, was distributed with 472 allocated to Puerto

01:01Princesa, Palawan, which experienced record-breaking rainfall.

01:05DSWD Secretary Rex Gachalion ordered immediate coordination with local government units to

01:12expedite relief efforts.

01:14So far, 34,692 families in Mimaropa and Eastern Visayas have been affected, with 2,223 families

01:23currently staying in evacuation centers.

01:25The DSWD has 208,544 FFPs on standby for additional relief operations in the impacted areas.

01:35The Implementing Rules and Regulations, or IRR, of Republic Act 12009 modernizes government

01:42procurement by streamlining processes and ensuring transparency.

01:47It mandates market assessments, strategic planning, and limits of subcontracting to

01:52optimize resource use.

01:54The PhilJobs platform will centralize procurement, offering aid bidding and supplier registries.

02:00The GPPB will ensure secure data sharing among government agencies.

02:05Applicable to all government entities, the law reinforces accountability and efficiency.

02:10Signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in 2024, it enhances public service and citizen

02:16participation.
