00:00It is a statistic because it's 100 years and it's also a milestone because it's 100 years
00:13and there has been definite progress in the technical aspects of the way films are made.
00:19Of course our inherent sense of drama, music and all of the other nitty-gritties are still
00:27in place. They've changed but they're still relevant even today. But there's also a different
00:33kind of cinema which is being appreciated since the whole multiplex culture has evolved.
00:41So of course there's been a lot of change over 100 years and it is a cause to celebrate
00:47because if you think about it, so many people watch Indian movies, not just in India but
00:53the diaspora all over the world and the numbers are phenomenal. Films that are made are phenomenal
00:59and the numbers of people that watch are pretty staggering. So yes, I think it's a cause for celebration.
01:05I do have a couple of offers, you know, in standby and I have written a couple of scripts
01:10and there's been a delay in there going on the floor. So when they actually do, then
01:15it would be a good time to talk about that. It's just really relevant to what is being
01:18done in view of the film that is being made. Yeah, I mean what is there to say? I mean
01:22in the old times it was the cabaret. A lot of people then used to go to the movies, just
01:26watch Helen's song and then leave the theatre, you know, droves. And now you have the item
01:31girls. So in that sense not much has changed. It's an intrusion. It's a definite intrusion.
01:37It's nobody's business, what I do in my personal life. I think I've earned my stride, especially
01:42now, and the right to have privacy. I can understand, you know, when you're in the throes
01:47of your work and people are really interested. But it always shocks me that people really
01:52want to know what's going on in my life, even now. Quite frankly, I think that it really
01:57is my own personal business. My priorities are my family, my kids, my children and they're
02:03on the brink of their careers. So that is what's most important to me. Subsequently,
02:08you know, if you have a partner later in life, you know, for your sunset years, who cares?
02:15I'm not surprised that anybody's even bothered.
