00:00My name is Deva Lama. I'm from Nepal. I'm going to speak one proverb.
00:13Push it more in practice, bless it more. Thank you.
00:21The basic objective was to start some social initiative.
00:26We do some work in India, but over here, in fact, there was a request from the Consul General
00:33to do financial counseling for Indian laborers.
00:37Because, you know, after the financial crisis, a lot of people got into financial problems.
00:41And the request was, since most of the IM students are in banking, they should be able to help out.
00:48And, in fact, we started about three years back financial counseling along with IWRC.
00:54Two of our colleagues have been doing it continuously over every Saturday.
01:00This has been going on for about two and a half years.
01:03About a year and a half back, we joined with Smart Life, who has a good contact with the labor camps.
01:10They have been doing a lot of work.
01:12So we joined hands with them and along with Sarvadabala, the campus which you are seeing right now.
01:18They provided us the facility. In fact, this is where our first class started.
01:23From the Basic English, we have moved to Basic English 2, Advanced English.
01:28And also you can see the computers behind. So we do that.
01:31And right now we are in three locations.
01:33We are in Alcoz over here. We have another location in Alcoz in Altair.
01:39And then we have another company campus in Sonapur.
01:42The idea came from Abdul Kalam, our ex-president. He was here on a visit.
01:47We met him and we asked him what as a help we can do for India as a group of alumni working in UAE.
01:57It didn't take him even a minute to respond.
01:59He smiled at us and he said, don't worry, India will take care of itself.
02:03You take care of the Indians here.
02:05Provide them skills upgrading so that they can grow in their career and they can do better.
02:10I'm working for a company since 2007. I'm here for advanced class.
02:19My name is Deva Lama. I'm from Nepal.
02:22I'm coming here to learn English. I want to improve my career.
02:29First of all, my aim is I want to be a salesman.
02:32It is the international language that everyone has to learn.
02:36So I think if I learn English and if I speak good English, I can improve myself.
02:41So that's why I came here.
02:43Avoid holding your hands.
02:46Okay?
02:48Relax and then speak.
02:51Okay?
02:52Then you also talk about eye contact.
02:55If I'm talking to Sian, I should be looking at him.
02:59Not here.
03:02Clear?
03:04Very simple, three fundamentals.
