00:00Well, Charles, what a game for Cardiff City in the FA Cup 4th round this weekend away
00:08at Stoke City. The Bluebirds progressing to the 5th round of the tournament in what was
00:14a crazy game. Cardiff leading 2-0 early on, only for Stoke City to come back and peg them
00:20back to 3-2 down. Then Cardiff made it 3-3 and ultimately the game ended up in a penalty
00:26shootout, which Cardiff City triumphed in. And so that sees them through to the 5th round
00:31of the competition. Of course, they aren't having a great season in the Championship.
00:34They are fighting relegation to League One. And so this is probably the shining light
00:39of their season so far, this FA Cup journey. Yes, it's only two rounds that they've had
00:43to go through, but ultimately they're into the last 16 of the competition and, you know,
00:49a good draw against another Championship side. And they could realistically be into the quarterfinals
00:54if things were to go their way. So looking at the game itself and, of course, what could
00:58happen next, it's not looking so bad for Cardiff, despite their obvious frailties in the Championship.
01:04Yes, you're spot on. I think, you know, the win away at Sheffield United came out of absolutely
01:12nowhere in the third round and, you know, it kept them alive, kept their seasons alive
01:17and then since haven't lost until the 7-0, you know, drubbing away at Leeds United after
01:23that FA Cup win. They obviously then draw Stoke City away from home. You look at that
01:27and think, you know, Stoke are also really struggling down the bottom of the Championship.
01:30There's a massive chance for Omariza's side to go there and, you know, feel the magic
01:35of the FA Cup again. This is the, you know, first time in 11 years they've reached the
01:41fifth round of the tournament, which is quite astonishing. You know, it's something that
01:46the FA Cup has so much history. It's, you know, probably the best Cup competition on
01:51earth in terms of its history and where teams have gone in the tournament and, yeah, the
01:57game itself was an absolute blockbuster, especially for the neutral. I mean, Cardiff take the
02:012-0 lead. Ruben Caldwell, absolutely unbelievable on the day. Selech getting his goal as well
02:08to, you know, make sure he's continuing his rise as a new signing. He's been absolutely
02:14brilliant and also hit the bar and could have won the game as well. But, you know, penalties
02:19was the way forward. Koumas, obviously a Welsh international, you know, Jason Koumas's
02:24son, he's playing fantastically for Stoke City. He sent it, pretty much sent it to penalties
02:29with his impact, both scoring two goals, him and Caldwell. And Ethan Horvath was the penalty
02:35hero, the Cardiff City goalkeeper. I mean, an enthralling cup tie in this journey, as
02:41you say. It sort of takes away any struggle from the league and, you know, anything that
02:47that's going on behind the scenes as well. Omariza can take so much confidence from this
02:53and who knows where they could end up in the FA Cup this season. So, yeah, really, really
02:57positive for Cardiff City.
