00:00An artistic touch added to a piece of Hobart history in the midst of a restoration.
00:08It's a funny thing. This particular boat doesn't have a massive historical history,
00:13doesn't have a story where it's been around the world or done an Antarctic adventure or anything,
00:17but people still love it just because it's always been there.
00:21For decades, the iconic little blue boat sat in Hobart's Montrose Bay
00:26until it was damaged in a storm last August.
00:30At this year's Australian Wooden Boat Festival,
00:33the team leading its repairs took the chance to show off their progress and add a new feature.
00:40The interest of the residents in this little blue boat has been amazing.
00:44The boat was just one display drawing in attendees across the waterfront.
00:49With the chance to peruse modern and historical vessels, enjoy live music
00:54and demonstrations of vintage equipment among this year's offerings.
01:01It's something that a lot of people have never seen, only in movies.
01:04People are really interested in it.
01:06There's a lot of people that turn up where their fathers or grandfathers were actually helmet divers.
01:12It's not just a bunch of old boats sitting around with old people and glasses of wine.
01:16It's a full on community involvement really.
01:20We work hard to bring things in that will interest lots and lots of the community.
01:25Last year's event had a visitation of 60,000 across four days.
01:30While numbers are still rolling in, organisers are expecting this year's event to be even bigger.
01:35But the fun isn't over yet, with the festival continuing tomorrow.
