The Met Office's video forecast for Monday January 10.
Transcript
00:00Those outbreaks of rain will continue this evening and overnight, particularly across
00:03parts of England and Wales, but clearer skies will remain across more north-western areas
00:08of Scotland, and here temperatures will drop off quite a bit, as low as minus five, maybe
00:13minus six degrees Celsius in some sheltered areas.
00:16Pockets of frost potential across other western areas where we see a few clear spells developing,
00:21but most areas underneath the cloud will see temperatures more around three to four degrees
00:25Celsius as we start off the new working week.
00:29But despite that very cold start in north-western Scotland, it's here once again where we're
00:34going to see the best of the sunshine throughout the day.
00:36For the Highlands, the Outer Hebrides, parts of Argyll and Bute, a very lovely day here
00:40with widespread sunshine in there.
00:43Elsewhere, that cloud is still coming in from the North Sea, starting to see more showers
00:47drifting their way in for the Pennines, and particularly we could see a couple of centimetres
00:50of snow building up in places, and it is going to be feeling very cold once again.
00:56Winds are starting to struggle with that lack of sunshine, five, six degrees Celsius
01:00as our temperatures on the thermometer, but when we add on the strength of that increasing
01:04easterly wind, it is going to be feeling more like freezing for the vast majority of us.
01:09So certainly Monday and even into next week, it is going to be one where we are going to
01:14be having to wrap up warm if we are outside, particularly when exposed to that very biting
01:18easterly wind on those eastern coastal districts.
01:22So there will be a very similar picture into Monday evening, and that stagnant weather
01:26pattern is looking like it will stay around for a good portion of this forthcoming week.
