00:00Hey everyone, it's your girl Catrice J.
00:02We are in New Orleans with Rob 49 at his new restaurant, The Nest Nola.
00:09How you feeling?
00:10I'm good, good, good. It's like a lounge-type, restaurant-type vibe.
00:14Tell me about it.
00:15Um, like that's what it is. I just always wanted somewhere for me and my partners to come
00:20instead of going to all these spots that we're not comfortable at.
00:31What does it mean to you to have this restaurant in New Orleans, your home city?
00:35I ain't gonna lie, that feels good. Just because New Orleans food is everything.
00:39I ain't, I wouldn't even feel comfortable building nothing nowhere else.
00:42New Orleans has one of the richest food cultures in the world.
00:47How do you think the flavors of the city is going to represent in this restaurant?
00:51It's the one. I think if they come here, they're going to know New Orleans got the best food in the United States.
00:58Like for sure. And I know it sounds crazy, 50 states, 49 of them, but it's the one.
01:03I feel like it too, I'm going to be honest.
01:05You feel like that?
01:06I feel like you'll have the best food in New Orleans.
01:08I swear to God, bro.
01:09And obviously your restaurant, or lounge.
01:11Today's going to do it for you.
01:13Ooh, I'm excited!
01:14So we're here for Super Bowl weekend. How does it feel to have Super Bowl in your city?
01:17I remember when it was here last time, me and my partners just chilling in the project on the balcony, looking at it.
01:22Not us being a part of it. You know what I'm saying? It feels good, I'm not going to lie.
01:25How do you feel like sports and music intersect for you?
01:28I feel like music, every ball player want to be a rapper, every rapper want to be a ball player.
01:35We just going to intersect anyway.
01:37And if you could create the ultimate Super Bowl halftime show, we got Kendrick this year, but if you are creating the show, who are you having headline?
01:44Lil Wayne.
01:46Okay.
01:47For sure.
01:48How do you feel about Lil Wayne this year not performing in New Orleans, in your city?
01:54I mean, it's just like, I know they probably didn't think of it that serious, like you know what I'm saying?
02:01Because Beyonce didn't perform here before, so they're not thinking like, oh, it's got to be the year.
02:06So I know it probably wasn't a big deal to them, but I don't know, it just felt like it felt right at the time to the city.
02:15But you got to think about outside of the city, like they still going to like, you know what I'm saying?
02:19They want to see who the best fit for that time.
02:24And you have a song with Lil Wayne.
02:26Yeah.
02:27What's happening?
02:28Yeah, what's happening?
02:29What was it like working with him?
02:30He the GOAT for sure.
02:32I ain't going to lie, I'm glad he didn't get on my song, like, rapping like a metaphor, a theory.
02:37I just wanted a vibe and he delivered it.
02:39Like, you know what I'm saying?
02:40Totally.
02:47Your career has been on the rise.
02:49Steady, steady, steady.
02:50What's been the biggest lesson you've learned along the way?
02:53Keep going.
02:55Keep going for sure.
02:56Like, don't look at nobody.
02:58We not in competition with nobody because the person you think you're in competition with probably got something bad going on that you ain't got going on.
03:05You know what I'm saying?
03:06So just keep going.
03:13We got a lot of big plans.
03:16It's just so many.
