00:00I think that one of the mistakes people might make in all of this is to suggest or believe
00:04that Canada has not done a lot and is not an incredible partner of the United States.
00:08The truth is the United States has no greater partner when it comes to law enforcement and
00:12cross-border investigations in Canada.
00:14I think what's interesting, Tom, too, and I think what befuddled a lot of people in
00:17the United States is the annual number of seizures of fentanyl on the U.S. border from
00:24Canada are actually exceedingly low.
00:25I think a lot of the fentanyl that is illegally imported into Canada stays in Canada.
00:31When you look and compare the volume of seizures of fentanyl between Mexico and Canada, there's
00:36about 100 times, if not more, seizures coming north from Mexico into the United States and
00:42from Canada.
00:43I do think people were curious about why the president was putting this robust approach
00:49to Canada when the number of seizures are so low and Canada is such an incredible partner.
00:53But nevertheless, here we are.
