Is it really a BRIT Awards ceremony without a little bit of chaos during the live broadcast? We didn't think so either.
So ahead of this year's ceremony taking place on March 1 2025 at The O2 in London, we've brought together five of our favourite, or 'infamous' moments in BRIT Awards history - do you agree with our picks?

00:00Ah yes, the Brit Awards. Britain's biggest night in music. It's given us iconic performances,
00:07unforgettable wins and some jaw-dropping moments. But nothing beats a little chaos, am I right?
00:16With that in mind, here are our picks for the 5 most memorable Brit Award moments in
00:21the annals of the ceremony's history.
00:24At number 5, we start with the ultimate Brits disaster, 1989's Ceremony. The Brits tried
00:31to go big with live TV, but pairing Sam Fox with Mick Fleetwood turned into car crash
00:36television. There were missed cues, wrong artist introductions and dead air that left
00:41the audiences cringing. It still hailed as one of TV's most chaotic nights.
00:48At number 4, Brandon Block vs. Ronnie Wood. DJ Brandon Block mistakenly thought he'd won
00:54an award and therefore stormed the stage mid-ceremony. Ronnie Wood wasn't impressed leaving to an
01:00on-stage spat that ended with Wood throwing a drink at Block, Block getting dragged off
01:05the stage. Yeah, it was rock and roll pure chaos. Or EDM pure chaos in the case of Brandon
01:12Block.
01:14At number 3, Adele getting cut off. After winning album of the year for 21 back in 2012,
01:19Adele began her heartfelt speech until host James Corden awkwardly cut her off to make
01:25way for Blur's performance. Adele's response? Flipping the bird quickly to the Brits followed
01:30by an apology. Well, to her fans, definitely not the production team.
01:35At number 2, it doesn't get any more iconic than Jerry Halliwell's Union Jack dress during
01:40the Spice Girls 1997 Brit Award performances. The Spice Girls were at their zenith and Jerry's
01:47iconic tea-towel-turned-mini dress became a symbol of cool Britannia. And the cheeky
01:53shout of all you politicians, you can, well, you know the rest, and you've got yourself
01:58a certified, bonafide, Brit history moment.
02:01But nothing, and I mean nothing's gonna top the number 1 position, Jarvis Cocker vs. Michael
02:08Jackson. Now, while Michael Jackson performed his Messianic Earth song, Pope's frontman
02:14Jarvis Cocker wasn't having any of it. He stormed the stage, flapping his arms, flashing
02:19his bum in protest, and Cocker was briefly detained, but here's the twist, of course
02:25there's a twist, it's the Brit Awards. Comedian Bob Mortimer was brought on as his legal counsel.
02:31He got away with it, completely fine, but the damage was done, and a man remade. So
02:37from stage invasions to political protests, the Brits never failed to deliver drama. So
02:42what will happen next? Well, we'll find out when it gets aired on ITV1 and ITVX Live on
02:48Saturday March 1st. Here's pulling for another Chapel Rowan win.
