00:00The Ifugao State University has developed a mobile application that can help the youth

00:04appreciate Ifugao's cultural tangible materials more.

00:15The Ifugao State University, through its globally important Agricultural Heritage System Center,

00:21has developed a mobile application to help the youth appreciate Ifugao's cultural tangible materials.

00:26The project is an innovative way to reintroduce Ifugao's cultural artifacts to young people.

00:32They use gadgets every day, most of the time.

00:35So why not put this in the gadgets they are using for them to learn more of our culture?

00:42The mobile app digitizes five cultural artifacts in 3D mode.

00:46The hapiyo or shield, hagabi or prestige bench,

00:50laluya luhum or mortar and pestle,

00:52pahul or spear, and bale or native house.

00:55The app uses markers or QR codes to bring these cultural artifacts to life,

01:00allowing users to explore them interactively.

01:03In AR, augmented reality,

01:05those virtual components will be combined in our real-time map or real world

01:13to combine our reality in physical form with virtual form using apps.

01:22Usually, you won't see anything there.

01:24But with the phone,

01:26it's like this.

01:27You can see the info.

01:28This is how AR works.

01:29The initiative titled Exploring Metaverse,

01:32Creating Preferred Futures for Heritage Conservation

01:35was funded by the National Economic and Development Authority.

01:38It was implemented in partnership with the various stakeholders,

01:42including representatives from the Ifugao Heritage Sites,

01:45Kiyangan, Pinon, Banawe, and Hundoan.
