00:00We start at Elland Road for Leeds United against Cardiff City and an emphatic win for the Whites.
00:06Well, well, well, I don't think anybody expected that as Leeds United have absolutely blitzed Cardiff City.
00:137-0 here at Elland Road in a huge, huge boost to the team the club's promotion hopes.
00:21As part of a brilliant day really because probably just as significant as that 7-0 victory
00:26is a slip up for Burnley who could only manage a goalless draw.
00:30And obviously while there still was 16 games left to go, a long time still to go obviously,
00:35that has now opened up a five-point buffer in the automatic promotion places which
00:40at this stage of the season feels fairly big really and Leeds have now got that to sort of count on
00:47on top of the performance today and I was doing the light block during the game
00:51and really the thought process there is that we get gaps and stuff opening up.
00:58If Leeds play like that on a consistent basis, we won't really need to worry about what the gaps are
01:03because not many teams will be able to live with them and that game there just looked like
01:08two teams at totally different levels and that's no disrespect to Cardiff who are down the other end
01:14of the table but did come here unbeaten in eight games.
01:17So there was a bit more to it than meets the eye in terms of first versus 18th when you say
01:22they're unbeaten in eight and Leeds are unbeaten in 12.
01:24But I mean the two teams just looked absolutely poles apart and to be honest,
01:29quite a staggering thing to say but I think most would agree with it.
01:32It finished 7-0 to Daniel Farke's side and it probably could and should have been even more really.
01:36Jack Harnick in goal made some very, very good saves for Cardiff, kept very, very busy
01:41and as I say I mean if Leeds would have hit double figures really,
01:45it probably wouldn't have been any surprise and this team just really, really clicked here
01:50and obviously this is at a time when obviously all the talk is about who Leeds might get
01:55in the January transfer window or expect them to be quiet.
01:58I mean who knows what will happen on that.
02:01Obviously talk about Archer coming in potentially and he would obviously boost the team.
02:08Next up Bradford City in their away trip to face promotion rivals Wimbledon at Plough Lane.
02:15As for Bradford City, well their unbeaten run in League 2 came to an end
02:21at the hands of promotion rivals Wimbledon at Plough Lane.
02:25A 1-0 loss thanks to a goal in the first half from James Tilly for the Dons
02:31gave them all three points against the Bantams.
02:35Disappointing certainly for Bradford City and Graham Alexander following the recent good form
02:39that they've been in and especially losing against what is a promotion rival in Wimbledon as well
02:45which is saw the Bantams drop to 7th place in the table.
02:48That is still in the playoff places but Wimbledon now ahead of them by three points in the table
02:54which is a big blow but still lots of winnable games to come for Bradford.
