Kaytranada Talks Going Viral For Losing His Luggage, Reveals He Wants To Work With Victoria Monet & More

Kaytranada caught up with Billboard's Tetris Kelly and Rania Aniftos on the 2025 GRAMMYs red carpet.

00:04three times tonight but you've won twice before so you must be feeling good already.

00:07You know I already feel good so if I don't win I'm gonna be a two-time Grammy award winner you know

00:12it's all good. Still good, good either way and I mean you are someone who really represents

00:17big change in the dance music world how does it feel to add this layer of like pushing the

00:23boundaries on what dance music means? I mean it's an honor like to have like uh people just embark

00:29on my journey like just to be just trying new things and people loving it and I embrace it

00:34all the way so it's good. And then I want to ask you something really quick you're talking about

00:38your journey speaking of journeys you lost your luggage a couple weeks ago tell me why that went

00:42so viral and why everybody wanted to talk about it. I told people I was stinking but I don't stink

00:47I smell really good all the time. You got to get that good stuff just in case the luggage gets

00:51lost. It's just it's just it's just crazy like to lose a luggage and then like you got to perform

00:55and then you got to perform with the same clothes it's kind of crazy. I was taking showers though

01:03on lately who are you who are you excited to work with next? Oh man like honestly like I just love

01:08to work with people that want to work with me honestly I'm not really like selective with who

01:12I really want to work so I'm just open to like work with new artists you know like who's gonna

01:17come up and you know maybe like doing a whole album somebody else's album I would love that.

01:23Is there somebody you have your eye on right now? Um shoot you know I got like maybe Victor

01:29Monet I'm not doing an album with her not doing an album with her. That would be nice. But like a lot

01:33a lot of ideas like Anderson .Paak wanted to, Victor Monet, a lot of people want to do those

01:37things. Come on you and Anderson though? Hey you know you know we made a lot of bangers together so

01:43and of course we're representing LA tonight so I do want to know what's your favorite thing about LA?

01:47Um man LA is just I love that you know the music is alive here like the music industry

01:51like I didn't fully believe it that it was that until I got to LA you know like coming from

01:56Montreal things are kind of like blurry but um it's the community the music community and like
