00:00Hi I'm health reporter Sarah McCann bringing you another viral skincare trend. This time we're
00:06going to be talking about face taping. Face taping is a non-invasive beauty technique that involves
00:12applying tape to areas of the face in order to improve appearance by smoothing fine lines and
00:18lifting the skin. The tape is usually applied before bed around the forehead and the eyes.
00:25It's actually a common step in another viral skincare routine called morning shed. But does
00:31it really work? Beauty and content specialist at Fresha Sophie Van Camaso explains that the
00:37results are only temporary. Whilst face taping can offer a short-term smoothing effect and
00:44visibly reduce lines once the tape is removed, these effects will wear off throughout the day
00:50and are not permanent. And there are risks with the Cleveland Clinic explaining that face taping
00:56can cause irritation to the skin, dermatitis and also allergic reaction due to the glue and the
01:02tape on your face. If you want to give face taping a go it's recommended that you use tape that is
01:09designed for your face and that is also hypoallergenic. You can find out more about skincare
