Transcript
00:00Are we becoming a stress factory as a country?
00:04One of the biggest stories in corporate India is people join companies and leave bosses.
00:08Stress is so overrated, so overrated.
00:12Everybody in India today is talking about developing a Jasprit Bhoomra.
00:17How many Jasprit Bhoomras are there in our workforce?
00:21And what is corporate India doing about the Jasprit Bhoomras in our workforce?
00:26Are we nurturing the Bhoomras or are we bowling them into the dust?
00:32Are we becoming a stress factory as a country?
00:36And will we continue to produce Bhoomras or will we continue to rub the Bhoomras into
00:41the dust?
00:42When you become leaders, understand that talent has to be nurtured.
00:46That if you nurture talent, talent will back you all the time.
00:49One of the biggest stories in corporate India is people join companies and leave bosses.
00:54When you be the boss, that's the glue.
00:57That people join companies like people go to play at CSK because they want to become
01:02better.
01:04That is where the gems will emerge.
01:06That is where the Bhoomras will emerge.
01:08We're getting all these GCCs in India now.
01:12How many people are getting up in the morning and saying, wow, I want to go and work there?
01:17My son's a lawyer and he's a litigation lawyer and he says almost all his batchmates have
01:22quit law firms because they've been put through what we call the Ganna circuit.
01:28You know what a Ganna circuit is?
01:30Anyone had Ganna ka Ras?
01:32You have Ganna ka Ras and you put the Ganna in and it reaches a point when it's got nothing
01:37left to give you.
01:39And that's when you put it in again.
01:44There are many, many outstanding young Bhoomras in our corporate workforce and many of them
01:50in this room.
01:51When you become leaders, nurture talent and learn to develop the Bhoomras.
01:56I would like to ask you a question a bit away from the cricket actually.
02:01You mentioned very wise words on the stress and you as an alumni, what is your opinion
02:08on the corporate world?
02:10I've actually got people who tell me stress is a good thing.
02:15Stress drives you towards excellence.
02:18I said, yeah, man, just tell me.
02:24It is the single largest killer in society.
02:31Can we stop senior managers from delivering stress to us?
02:34No, we don't control their lives.
02:35Can we ensure that when we go in their position, we won't be like that?
02:40But stress is so overrated, so overrated.
02:45I get the feeling sometimes that we've all packed bags and found that there's four or
02:50five things we still need to put in.
02:53Then we keep loading the bag and we sit on it and close it.
02:56Jo zulum karte hain bag pe, atyachar hota hai wo bag pe.
03:00That's what people do sometimes.
03:01They know these targets are unattainable and they still force people into targets.
03:05What to do?
