00:00Mark Andrews for the Express and Star. Behind me is Wolverhampton University's
00:05School of Art and Design. For the past 55 years this nine-storey Brutalist
00:10building has been one of Wolverhampton's most familiar landmarks but possibly not
00:15for much longer. Under the University's redevelopment plans the building behind
00:23me will be demolished. The Sports Centre across the ring road will become the
00:29University's new medical school and its campus at Priorsley in Telford will
00:36close in September next year. Professor Ebrahim Adia, the University's Vice
00:42Chancellor, says at the moment the University's estates are underutilised
00:47by 30%. He says these changes will make the University more efficient and allow
00:53more funds to be directed into teaching and other essential services as the
00:59University seeks to recruit 5,000 students from overseas. This is Mark
01:05Andrews for the Express and Star reporting from Wolverhampton University.
