00:00The happy celebration of the Chinese New Year continues in Chinatown in Banaue, Quezon City.

00:14Aside from Pinot de Melilla, the Filipino-Chinese are also celebrating the Lunar New Year here in Banaue Street in Quezon City.

00:31Next to the ribbon-cutting held by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, the newly built Banaue Chinatown was launched.

00:41The presence of Banaue Street can be seen as a cultural, tourism, and commercial hub.

00:4750 food and non-food booths are included in the activity.

00:52Some of the items sold here are the food that we usually eat during the Chinese New Year, such as tikoy, hopia, and fortune cake.

01:03According to Mayor Belmonte, the activities that they are preparing today are in full swing.

01:09You can also see a prosperity tree here in Banaue, where visitors can take pictures and write their wishes here in Banaue.

01:21Our goal is to consider Banaue as an alternative to Binondo.

01:27Of course, we recognize that the original and the oldest Chinatown is in Binondo.

01:31But very few people know that Quezon City actually has the largest Chinatown.

01:36And this is actually an extension of Binondo Chinatown because many of our Chinoys moved to Banaue.

01:43Before we were here earlier, the crowd estimate of those who are here in Banaue Street in Quezon City to celebrate the Chinese New Year was around 3,000.

01:56According to the latest data from Quezon City Police District Station 1, the activities that are being done here in Banaue Street are still in full swing.
