00:05on the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and India.

00:16The Indian community here in the Philippines celebrated the 76th Republic Day of India

00:22along with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and India.

00:27Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Harsh Kumar Jain,

00:31Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo,

00:33Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco,

00:35National Security Advisor Eduardo Año,

00:38other senior government officials,

00:40members of the Diplomatic Corps,

00:42and members of the Indian community attended the occasion.

00:44Ambassador Jain congratulated those who reached India and the Philippines

00:49on the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and India.

00:51This includes cooperation in the field of defense,

00:53trade, housing, infrastructure, and many more.

00:57Ambassador Jain also mentioned that

00:59the bilateral trade between the Philippines and India reached US$3.5 billion

01:04and continued to grow in terms of investment.

01:13Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Maria Helen de la Vega also shared

01:17that the relationship between the Philippines and India has been going on for a long time,

01:19even before the arrival of the influence of Islam and the inclusion of foreign countries.

01:24The official also shared that the two-way trade and tourism between the two countries has increased.

01:29The Department of Foreign Affairs is currently implementing the Philippine e-Visa system in India

01:35where Indian nationals can apply online for their e-Visa so that they can reach the Philippines.

01:41The so-called step is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

01:45that Indian nationals can easily travel to our country.

01:54The Philippine government will work closely with our Indian partners

01:58and strive to give each other better access to our two fast-growing economies.

02:04In 1949, diplomatic relations between the Philippines and India were established

02:09where the former Foreign Affairs Secretary Narciso Ramos was the first to become the ambassador of the Philippines to India.

02:15In 1952, the Philippine-Indian Treaty of Friendship was passed

02:19which further strengthened the friendship between the two countries.
