00:00Super Bowl 59 in the Big Easy, New Orleans, Louisiana, just 13 days away and
00:07familiar foes now in the biggest game of each and every NFL season, the
00:13Philadelphia Eagles in the Kansas City Chiefs. Twice in the last three years
00:18matching up, hoping to grab and hoist a Lombardi trophy. Super Bowl 57 out in
00:26Glendale, Arizona, now two years ago. KC triumphant for its first of two
00:32consecutive Super Bowl championships winning 38-35. We'll have plenty of time
00:37to look back on that game. Here are the early odds for this big game. A point and
00:43a half in favor of KC. Minus 132 now on that money line in a total of 49 and a
00:52hook. DRS, let's start with our perspective of those odds at the open.
00:57What are your early thoughts for Super Bowl 59 based on the numbers? We're gonna
01:03have a really close game and that's what it's supposed to be. And again, the
01:06Chiefs are used to being in this spot and used to winning these football games.
01:10I don't think any Eagles backer, fan, or handicapper's gonna be like, oh that line
01:13doesn't look right. Because if you would have placed it minus Eagles one and a
01:16half, it would have been fine. Anything below three either side, I would have
01:19been okay with it here. Because those are the expectations. Number one, Kansas
01:23City doesn't necessarily, excuse me, blow teams out. Number two, the Philadelphia
01:27Eagles, yes, are a very good team, but just lost to the Chiefs two years
01:30previous. And if there's one team that's used to making Super Bowls and playing
01:33in big moments, it is the Kansas City Chiefs. Also, I want to say this, the good
01:37part about it is, it's in a dome in New Orleans. The reason I say that is, they
01:41can't roll in a playing surface that will be detrimental to one team. Just
01:45like you saw in Kansas City and Philadelphia in the previous Super Bowl.
01:48The number one SAC team in the history of the NFL was on ice skates the entire
01:54football game. That's not going to be the case in the Super Bowl. So I'm just
01:57hoping for no excuses here. I don't want to be angry at referees on bad calls. I
02:02don't want to look at the field and say it was sabotaged. Just let these two
02:05teams play. And I believe that's going to happen in New Orleans.
02:09Yes, I agree as well, Donnie. And once again, we see this number. Very, very
02:14short, marginal, in fact, in terms of the money line. What are we talking
02:19here? 32 plus 12. We're talking less than 50 cents of difference in terms of
02:24that money line distinction. It has been the story in the AFC with the Bills in
02:29the Ravens last night with the AFC championship game between the Chiefs and
02:34the Bills. The Eagles have been a six and a half point favorite for their
02:39recent games as of late in their last two. The Rams in the division around
02:44yesterday in a conference title matchup against those commanders. We mentioned
02:49it. Philly has won 15 of their last 16 entering New Orleans in Super Bowl 59.
02:54They have covered 11 times in that span. We also told you the history that Mahomes
02:59has seen in NFL playoff runs on this dynastic march for KC. He is 17 and
03:07three straight up now, the second most wins ever by a quarterback in the
03:11history of the National Football League postseason, still trailing Tom Brady by
03:17a large margin. Brady has 35 in total, but moving past Joe Montana last night,
03:23he is also perfect eight and oh against the number as a field goal favorite or
03:28fewer or an underdog in his NFL playoff career five times as a field goal
03:35favorite or fewer, which is what we probably will expect by the time we get
03:40to Sunday two weeks from now. But D. R. S. Let's talk about that time two weeks
03:46from now, 13 days away when we kick off in New Orleans inside the Caesars
03:52Superdome. Will Kansas City still be the favorite to win a third consecutive
03:57Lombardi trophy? I do believe that I do. And again, it just gets back to the
04:01notion I've been using it all year. And Ben, you were so right to point it out
04:04when the Super Bowl ended last year. And I said to myself, Let me get this
04:08straight. An underwhelming Kansas City team went into Buffalo, Baltimore and
04:12then beat a wildly more talented team in San Francisco in the Super Bowl. I
04:16don't care what happens if you tell me Andy Reed's gonna show up and Patrick
04:19Mahomes gonna show up without anybody else. I'm still taking them. So and
04:22that still stands like, Yes, I'm an Eagles fan. I will be cheering. But if
04:26you think it's easy for me to just go and say outside of my fandom, press that
04:29button down. The Eagles getting one and a half points in a game that I've been
04:32preaching about for the past two years, saying you kidding me? The Chiefs just
04:36have to win this game, which is basically minus one and a half. How can
04:39I go against that? I can't fault anybody there. And by the way, the
04:41Chiefs are getting better as the season goes on. Like Hollywood Brown coming
04:45back to that football team being an extra outlet to take the pressure off
04:48of Xavier Worthy has been phenomenal. You just saw a playoff game where we're
04:52saying, Hey, man, Kelsey's been on fire. Catch 19 yards worth of footballs, and
04:56they still won that game. They're using every single which way you could
05:00possibly win, which leads me to my next point. This is the best version of
05:04the Kansas City defense we have ever seen. Maybe the best defensive
05:08coordinator in football paired up now with the talent he needs to succeed
05:12where you're seeing games where you don't need the 368 yards and four
05:16touchdowns from homes. Oh, my goodness, he's great when you just need to 25
05:20and a touchdown and no turnovers is enough to carry the tide. This is a
05:23great game. But also, Ben, you look at that total right close to 50. I just
05:26told you how good both of these defenses are with two weeks to prepare.
05:29That matters. But if anybody going to this game like you know what? 17 14
05:34final. You've got to be kidding me, man. These are two ultra aggressive teams
05:38with great playmakers on both sides of the football in a dome with turf. I
05:43think we're probably getting points here, Ben. Yeah, I would agree. D. R.
05:47S. Both teams, by the way, over in their last two games, divisional round and
05:51conference championship round as well. Compare these numbers that we see there
05:56with the total 49.5 to the Super Bowl matchup we saw in Glendale, Arizona
06:02just two years ago. The birds closed as a slight favorite closing consensus
06:07spread 2.5 in favor of Philly, the over under 51 and a hook again. The
06:13Chiefs won outright as an underdog, which has not been the case often for
06:19K. C. In the playoff lives of Patrick Mahomes. But they were a dog three
06:24times last year in Buffalo, in Baltimore and in the Super Bowl. One
06:29outright in all of those. And of course, in Super Bowl 57 total also went over
06:3551 in a hook as the Chiefs did win final score 38 35 this year. D. R. S.
06:41Philly and underdog only three times they have won outright in all three
06:47under in two of those three games. As we shared, K. C. Continues its historic
06:53run that includes just edging out teams ever so slightly 17 consecutive
07:00wins in games decided by a single score, including a perfect 12 and oh
07:07straight up in those games. This season will continue to dive through the early
07:13numbers for the big easy and Super Bowl 59. Chiefs in the Eagles up next live
07:20right here on this Monday on the early line on sports grid following
07:24conference championships Sunday in the National Football League and taking
07:28that early preview of Super Bowl 59 early odds and what it all means. 13
07:34days away from the biggest game of any NFL season. The Eagles and the Chiefs
07:39in New Orleans with a Lombardi trophy at stake. Donny, let's compare these
07:43two teams this year. We were just having the conversation during the
07:47commercial break, a 15 and two Kansas City team that when they have played
07:51all of their starters, they have won not just 15 games, but 17 of 18. There
08:00are two in the playoffs, excluding that week 18 game in Denver against the
08:04Broncos in Eagles team that has won 15 of their last 16 games, including a
08:10conference crown in the NFC for a second time in the last three years.
08:16This matchup in itself is historic. And of course, we will have the exact
08:21data from just two seasons prior in Super Bowl 57. How do you compare
08:26these two teams this time around?
08:29Look very good on both sides again. Expectations are high. The Eagles
08:33aren't just rolling into this game. Hey, if one of the young head coaches in
08:36Nick Sirianni, he's got a lot of victories under his belt and also now a
08:40Super Bowl game which they lost. You can make those corrections, but also
08:43understand this to how we get to this point. Rest, of course, is always the
08:48major factor in ingredient. Andy Reed is sensational off of a buy when the
08:52other guy doesn't have a buy. It's even more compounded. Now they both have
08:55the buys. But understand this, man, at the end of the season, when the
08:59Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Washington commanders in Washington, a
09:03lot of people unhappy with me on the Eagles nation said, You know what? This
09:06is actually going to help the Eagles out. Why? We want that number one seed
09:09because if it played out exactly the way it did and if the Eagles were to
09:12beat the commanders, Detroit still would have been the number one overall
09:15seed and the Eagles would have went full gas against the New York Giants in
09:19that final game. Instead, they got the break. Why is that important now?
09:23Because Kansas City took off week 18, then had a bye week, then was still
09:27home and only to play the two football games. Then gets another two weeks
09:30before the Super Bowl. At least the Eagles having that early by in
09:34September slash early October were able to get that rest in week 18 and now
09:38get that secondary by before the Super Bowl. That's massive. You should have
09:42two fresh teams. But the comparisons from the last time they played in the
09:45Super Bowl till now are pretty similar. The Eagles, who were favorites in that
09:49past Super Bowl, I thought the better football team should have won rough
09:52double digits. They didn't. It's Patrick Mahomes. It's Andy Reed. It's
09:54Kansas City. It's what they do. But now coming into this game where Jalen
09:58Hurts is like, Okay, been there, done that before. Let's not make the same
10:01mistakes and fumble the football, which directly leads to a touchdown for
10:04Kansas City. Let's make every field goal we can get. Let's maybe stay more
10:07aggressive. And maybe the Eagles now, as crazy as it sounds, is talented.
10:11That team was. You have more superstars on this team right now than you did in
10:16that last Super Bowl for the Philadelphia Eagles. You also have a
10:20huge X factor and a difference in Saquon Barkley having a career and
10:24historic season for Philadelphia that will test everything Steve Spagnuolo is
10:30able to do for Kansas City defensively. What is so interesting about the Chiefs
10:36again, making history last night, nine teams ever in the Super Bowl era
10:41around the National Football League have won two consecutive Lombardi
10:45trophies. The previous 83 reached a conference championship game. Kansas
10:50City becoming the fourth of nine. They are the only team ever to win back to
10:56back Super Bowl championships and even reach a third Super Bowl. Various
11:01teams have made three consecutive Super Bowl appearances, but Kansas
11:05City, the first to do so as a back to back champion, trying to become the
11:09first team ever in National Football League history to win three consecutive
11:15Lombardi trophies. But Donnie, the Chiefs were an underdog ever so
11:18slightly, but still an underdog in their last two Super Bowls two years ago
11:23against the Eagles winning outright last season, of course, in Las Vegas
11:27against the 49ers winning outright because of overtime last year, the
11:32total push to the over 51 in a hook was the total two years ago between the
11:38birds and the Chiefs. It went well over 38 35 5 teams overall this year. DRS,
11:45including the postseason, have allowed fewer than 20 points per game around
11:49the NFL. The Chiefs and the Eagles are two of those five. You talked about the
11:54total 49 and a hook. We have two great defenses, two great defensive
12:00minds on display in New Orleans 13 days from now, but I still find it odd or at
12:08least unlikely this game is going to be a dead under 49 and a hook. Yeah, again,
12:13we're gonna have two weeks to analyze that, but just sometimes you take those
12:17first inclinations, which are usually the best ones. There's no way, let's say
12:20I'm talking about there's no way I'm betting against the Chiefs this week,
12:23right? I look at this by saying, boy, there's no way I'm taking the under in
12:26the Super Bowl with this much talent, this many weapons and we're not worried
12:30about 23 degree weather with chances, no showers and windy conditions. You're on
12:34a fast track in New Orleans. We'll talk more about the points, what we can
12:39expect offensively and the quarterback next. The early odds for the biggest
12:44game of any football season in New Orleans, the Chiefs in the Eagles for a
12:48second time in the last three years, a rematch from Super Bowl 57. Now in
12:53Super Bowl 59, the Chiefs outright as a 2.5 point underdog the last time around
12:59out in the desert in Glendale, Arizona, winning outright in a high scoring
13:03affair, 38 35 over a total of 51.5. Casey was down by 10 24 14 at the break.
13:11They rallied in the final two quarters, setting up a Harrison Bunker kick as
13:17time expired to give the Chiefs a victory with a controversial holding
13:22call in the final two minutes of regulation against Philly's defensive
13:26back James Bradbury at the time against Juju Smith Schuster. Somehow, some way
13:31still making impactful plays for the Chiefs offensively. But Donny, I do want
13:37to examine this total 49.5. You and I have both said it feels uneasy to try
13:43to bet in under. And one of the main reasons why is I think if you look at
13:47those team totals 25.5 for Kansas City, 23.5 for Philadelphia, I don't
13:55necessarily feel great about betting the under of either of those team totals,
13:59despite the dominant defenses on the other side. I think both teams get into
14:04the twenties. If that is my thought, I'm not giving myself a large edge or
14:09margin that I think this game stays under by. Could it be 27 21 24 20? For
14:18sure. I'm still not walking away with an easy under where I did not sweat
14:23things out. Come Super Bowl Sunday. You're right. And also look at the
14:27components that we have. And guess we just told you that they're two great
14:30defenses here, but the two great offenses and with two weeks to prepare
14:33in the U. S. Okay, the defense gets equal footing is the offense because
14:36they each have the two weeks. But also why were we look? The Eagles hung 55
14:41points yesterday in a game that we were looking at going like, All right, the
14:44Eagles offensive line is banged up and we don't think the quarterback can even
14:47move here so you can zero in on the running back and we'll see what
14:50happens. He scored seven rushing touchdowns negative two weeks to say
14:54Jalen hurts is all the way back and healthy. Saquon Barkley is two weeks
14:58now to relax after only getting 50. I say only 15 carries as opposed to what
15:02you thought would have been 25 carries. And it's the same thing with Kansas
15:05City. You look at the offensive line, healthy tight end, healthy wideouts,
15:08healthy running backs, healthy here. This is gonna be a slate where you're
15:11not worried about the biggest players, which is so great from a handicapping
15:14perspective. Let's just say you came to this game. Oh, say Quan pulled up lane
15:17with a hamstring injury. Oh, you gotta wait two weeks to talk about it. How's
15:20it gonna do or late in the game? Jalen hurts hurt the knee again. Is he gonna
15:24be fine? It's turf. Is you gonna wear a big bulky brace? We don't have any of
15:27that. I guess from the Eagles perspective, you're waiting to see on
15:30Landon Dickerson, which went as the dock coming up with that knee injury is
15:33going to look at. But you're getting full gas on both sides in an
15:36environment. You should be able to score points and understand this, too.
15:40Let's just say Jade and Daniels had beaten the Philadelphia Eagles
15:42yesterday. More than that. Oh, come on now. He's gonna go up against my home's
15:46first time in a Super Bowl. They're not ready. We saw this two years ago. Do
15:49you think Jalen hurts who was a young quarterback at the time? You know what?
15:52I hope to be back and I'll learn from it. You know what? He's back. Is he
15:55gonna be like, boy, the butterflies are so much. I've never been in this spot
15:58before. He's been there against the same team in a close game that they just
16:01lost. So for me, it spells more points than not. And also aggressive teams.
16:06We're not angling for field goals here. You're angling for touchdowns. You're
16:10trading threes for sevens. That's a four point difference. I think we saw
16:15last night as well. The game plan is still there. The blueprint, if you will,
16:19for ways of hoping to beat Kansas City in these incredibly important games.
16:24Field goals aren't going to get the job done. You still need to outpace a KC
16:29team that is by no means the best offensive power we have seen in this
16:33dynastic seven year run. Saquon Barkley, by the way, his early rushing yards
16:38prop is 112 and a hook. James Cook had a big day. 13 carries 85 yards, two
16:44rushing scores against that Chiefs defense nearly had 50 yards receiving
16:49as well. Of course, Saquon Barkley has been that critical factor for the
16:54Eagles offensively, which is why Donny so many similarities, right? We have a
16:59Super Bowl rematch for the second time in three years. We've got one team that
17:04is playing in three consecutive Super Bowls, five Super Bowl appearances in a
17:08six year window. There are so many data points in so many areas of a sample
17:13size. You can make comparisons to even last year when it was the Chiefs and
17:18the 49ers in a running back for Casey's opposition had a better price to win
17:23Super Bowl MVP than the team's starting quarterback, or at least pretty darn
17:28close. Saquon Barkley has the second best price to win Super Bowl 59 MVP
17:33award in front of Jalen hurts. Patrick Mahomes, of course, is the favorite. KC
17:39is the favorite to win yet another Lombardi trophy. And oh, just by the
17:43way, the three Super Bowls that Kansas City has already won with the homes as
17:48the starting quarterback. Patrick Mahomes has won the Super Bowl MVP
17:51hardware as well. Yeah, exactly. You're gonna see my homes. Obviously,
17:55they're the favorite team right now. Plus 105. But it's easy just to look at
17:58Kansas City and say, What is the game script where my homes doesn't actually
18:02become the Super Bowl MVP if they win? It's Kareem Hunt getting 170 yards
18:07rushing. Probably not as a Pacheco. Nope. Is it the three headed monster wide
18:11receiver that you never know which guy is going to step up? So one guy is 88
18:14yards is going to win that. It's probably got to be my home. But also it
18:17is interesting that you do see Saquon Barkley because we're human beings are
18:21should say human beings are voting on this, whereas sometimes you get a little
18:25nostalgic by saying like it's close. I say, Quon had that really good season
18:29here. Should have got the rushing tight on the regular season. Let's crown this
18:32by having the best running back season ever by giving him his Lombardi and
18:36also a Super Bowl MVP. But understand this. If you are looking at yesterday's
18:41game, who is the MVP? He said, What do you mean? Barkley went over 100 yards
18:45and scored three touchdowns. Saquon ran three in him. Excuse me. Jalen ran three
18:49in himself and through for 2 46 and another touchdown. It's not so simple
18:52when you look at it, because if the tush push was never the tush push, how
18:56many touchdowns is Barkley score this season and in the Super Bowl if he's
19:00getting all those goal line carries? Because that's where you get those
19:02vulture touchdowns by Jalen hurts at that point. But it makes sense. My home
19:06should absolutely be up there. Barkley sentimental value plus 2 90. But then
19:10you can't count out Jalen hurts a plus 3 80 and then everybody else who would
19:14need a miraculous game because if Kelsey has a big game, you know, I said
19:18a big game. Patrick Mahomes. That's why it's hard to do. Yeah. And Donny, I
19:23completely agree with you. We can examine this list for the next 13 days
19:28and say to ourselves, Does Travis Kelsey provide some value? What about
19:31if Xavier Worthy goes off? What if it's a defensive struggle and it is 17 14
19:36and Chris Jones has three sacks and two force fumbles? Sure. If the Chiefs win
19:40a Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes is winning Super Bowl MVP. Now I do hear the
19:45point about yesterday. Jalen hurts for total touchdowns, nearly 2 50 through
19:50the air. But when you watch the game still, I think everybody would have
19:55said the MVP for it was Saquon Barkley. I believe they give out NFC
20:00championship game MVP. No, they don't. Never mind. So we could have had that
20:04conversation be over. But still, I would argue that if the Eagles win, even
20:10with a similar path of what they did yesterday, where Saquon only has 118
20:16yards and three rushing touchdowns and Jalen Hurts has a phenomenal game
20:21narrative wise for what Saquon Barkley is meant for this year's Eagles team.
20:26He's probably going to win the Super Bowl MVP award. But Jalen hurts
20:31yesterday for total touchdowns in the first Super Bowl two years ago against
20:35Kansas City. A historic day. 304 yards. A touchdown was the birds leading
20:42rusher 70 yards on the ground. Three rushing scores. One of two players ever
20:46in Super Bowl history to have three rushing touchdowns in a single game.
20:51Jalen Hurts was historic. Had the Eagles outlasted the Chiefs there. He
20:56already has a Super Bowl MVP in the trophy case. So it is not like we are
21:01overlooking Phillies quarterback entering Super Bowl 59. No, we're
21:06certainly not. And again, you're gonna feed off of that because now you have
21:09the motivation. Yes, you wanted to get back to the Super Bowl, but don't you
21:13want to vanquish the enemy that already took you out from an Eagles fan
21:16perspective? Why is it gonna be so hard, man? Like in 2008 when the Phillies
21:20won a World Series was like fantastic. We got the Tampa Bay Rays. We didn't
21:24get the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees like my goodness, how much is to
21:27win in 2017? You have to be Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Then you
21:32get back to the Super Bowl and you face up with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas
21:35City Chiefs. Then you get back there and you gotta face Patrick Mahomes and the
21:39Kansas City Chiefs. You want it? You gotta go out and earn it. And Jalen
21:42Hurts understands that our next two weeks, all eyes are gonna focus on him.
21:45Mahomes is the greatest. Hurts is just a point guard that gets lucky at times.
21:50He's gonna feed right into that. Get ready. No doubt about it. Can't wait for
21:54our fade. The public poll to start our three to see who the public thinks it's
21:59going to win. Plenty of NFL news next before conference championship weekend
22:06got started in the National Football League. It was late on a Friday night.
22:09Maybe you were out and about enjoying the start of your weekend. Maybe you
22:13were sitting at home on your couch watching a movie. You certainly were
22:17not paying attention to the NFL head coaching carousel, which is exactly
22:22where Jerry Jones wanted you when the Cowboys named offensive coordinator the
22:27past two years at the star who did not call plays. Mind you, that was Mike
22:32McCarthy's role. Brian Schottenheimer, Dallas's new head coach. Brian
22:39Schottenheimer is the new head coach of the once famed America's team, the
22:45Dallas Cowboys. Again, I am not trying to slander Brian Schottenheimer. Of
22:51course, an illustrious name in NFL head coaching circles, his father, the late
22:55Marty Schottenheimer, one of the most successful regular season headed
22:59coaches you will see in the National Football League. Brian Schottenheimer,
23:03of course, the familiarity in Dallas the last three years. But Brian
23:08Schottenheimer is the end result of a Cowboys head coaching vacancy. It is a
23:14slap in the face, in my opinion, D. R. S. From Jerry Jones to the entirety of
23:19the Dallas Cowboys fan base to hire Brian Schottenheimer as the head coach.
23:24Yeah, it really is. And by the way, I like the concept to use here, the
23:27coaching carousel. So let's go to the amusement park, man, right? You're a kid.
23:31Let's just say you're 10 years old. Dad, Mom, I want to go on the carousel.
23:34Cool. You go on that. Sometimes you get the big horse, the ones that go up and
23:38down. They're a lot of fun. Sometimes it's the horse that doesn't move, but
23:41it's still cool. And then you always see every couple rows. There's just a
23:45bench on the carousel. Like, imagine you as a kid having to get the bench on the
23:49carousel. No fun at all. That's the Cowboys here in the coaching carousel.
23:52They put their fans on the bench, not the bright horse that's going up and
23:55down. That's Ben Johnson. That's gonna be running rough shot in Chicago. You
23:59got a head coach that inspires absolutely no confidence in your team
24:03and understand this concept. Mike McCarthy was the coordinator that was
24:08calling the plays. You liked what he was doing. You got rid of him to now go
24:12to the other of the offensive coordinator, quote unquote, who wasn't
24:16calling the plays, who somehow sold himself as a better prospect than Mike
24:20McCarthy, which always leads us back to what the heck was Mike McCarthy
24:24actually asking for to be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys? Was it 30
24:29million a year? A 17 year guaranteed contract? Did he want to be part owner?
24:34Did he want to take over and fire Steven Jones as the general manager?
24:37Like, what actually got him out of town, which they go? You know what? It
24:41was always Schottenheimer who was the guy here, Ben.
24:45I don't get it, Donnie again. He is not some bright and plucky young
24:49offensive coordinator who is innovating offenses around the NFL like the
24:53world has never seen. He has been in Dallas for three years, an analyst in
24:582022. The O. C. Only in title the last two because Mike McCarthy has been
25:05the guy calling place. Of course, Brian Schottenheimer has had a say in what
25:09the offensive scheme looks like. Of course, he probably has a close
25:13relationship with Dak Prescott. But what this means for Dallas once a
25:20proud franchise is a disaster, a team that has not made the NFC championship
25:26now going on three decades. In fact, they're the only team of 16 in that
25:31conference in the NFC as a whole that has yet to reach a conference
25:36championship game this millennium or since 2010. Now, with Jaden Daniels
25:41leading Washington there in his first year in the NFL. And here was a quote,
25:48I think from Jerry. I don't even know if this makes any sense from Jerry
25:51Jones to ESPN's Adam Schefter in the biggest of Friday news dumps you will
25:58ever see. Quote, Brian Schottenheimer is known as a career assistant. He
26:05ain't Brian no more. He is now known as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
26:12That is so dumb. I don't even know the writer of Landman could not make Jerry
26:17act that out even close to what he just said in the reason Jerry that Brian
26:23Schottenheimer as known as a career assistant is is because he has spent a
26:28total of 24 years as an assistant in the National Football League. The very
26:33first back in 1997. He has been an NFL offensive coordinator now for 14
26:39seasons. These previous two in Dallas. He spent six years with the New York
26:44Jets. Go look at those results. He spent a couple of years in ST Louis. He
26:49spent three years in Seattle that made everybody question. Could Russell
26:53Wilson still cook and was not the offensive play caller the last two years
26:58in Dallas again. It is a slap in the face of a once proud franchise. I love
27:05the joke about the Cowboys and not spending Donnie's money or my worst
27:08enemies money on the Cowboys to win an NFC championship despite having one of
27:13the five best prices to do so each and every year because they have not even
27:18reached the NFC championship since 1995. But if you are a Dallas fan and
27:24backer, this is the most disappointing news you could ever receive. Could
27:28Brian Schottenheimer have success? Sure. And I hope for him that he does
27:34because he ain't Brian no more. He's the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
27:38Do I predict that he is going to have success or the Dallas will reach that
27:43pantheon of which we judge them by? No. The simple answer to it for me, Donnie.
27:49All Jerry had to do was put out a poll on Twitter slash X like we do every
27:54single day here at the sports grid network for a fade the public. Who
27:57would you guys like as a head coach? And if you put Schottenheimer Schottenheimer
28:00in that mix, he would have probably got the least amount of votes you could
28:03possibly get regardless of who else was asking. Because sometimes all you
28:07want is to go outside the building, right? Look, McCarthy didn't work. It
28:10was his offensive coordinator. Then you're gonna bring him in and
28:13understand this a couple years ago when McCarthy went to the Cowboys, we all
28:17laughed at it. We all thought it was hilarious and look how it turned out
28:21here and an all in season. You get embarrassed, you don't make the playoffs
28:25and you go home and your answer is, you know what? Not that I want to get the
28:28best coach out here. Let's keep the status quo in house. And how do you
28:33know this was an indictment on jerry jones? He's a very smart businessman. I
28:37want this guy's my head coach. Nobody else wants him here. Release a
28:40statement when the press week is already over and the biggest weekend in
28:45the National Football League, AFC, NFC championship games are playing.
28:47Hopefully everybody forgets this and we can show up in training camp. Be
28:51like, oh, that's right. They did hire Schottenheimer. Let's see how this
28:53works to avoid all that fan vitriol that you are going to get because your
28:58fan base is furious. You did this and you tried to hide it at the last
29:03moment. There is so much to say, but think about how jerry jones conducted
29:08this search. I say in air quotes, he kept mike McCarthy on a string. They
29:14were unable to reach a deal so that they got started a week after
29:18everybody else that had a vacation. A lot more on the coaching carousel
29:23next around the NFL. We go, but first we continue to talk about the
29:29Dallas Cowboys because again, jerry jones as the owner of this franchise,
29:34seemingly the most powerful man in the sport, but certainly thinks he has
29:38the biggest ego in every room is actively ruining the franchise that he
29:44claims to love from true winning ways just so he can retain some sort of
29:49power and control. They continue the conversations with mike McCarthy for
29:54an extra week to only not come to a new deal, putting Dallas behind the
30:00eight ball because in that week that the lions were off as the one seat in
30:04the N. S. C. The Cowboys were unable to interview ben johnson and or Aaron
30:10glenn. So you missed out on two very attractive head coaching candidates in
30:14this cycle and then all right now you have a head coaching vacancy. We'll
30:18put out the story about deon sanders to create a little buzz. Never actually
30:21had an in person conversation with coach prod. All right, we're gonna
30:25interview brian schottenheimer twice in person. This is not actually going to
30:31happen, right? This is just the mentality that jerry jones is going to
30:35keep somebody close to the organization and ultimately hire kellen more. Wait,
30:39no. What? We hire brian schottenheimer and we tried to bury it at 10 p.m.
30:44Eastern time on a friday night. Again, donny, if you were once a cowboys
30:49fan or have any belief that Dallas can get back to the mountaintop in the
30:53NFL, how jerry jones conducted this coaching search is an absolute slap in
30:58the face for everybody associated with the Cowboys. Like you figure like when
31:02the Dallas Cowboys job comes open, there's a signal that says this is the
31:05biggest brand in sports worldwide, which is a huge factor. And number two,
31:10they probably have more money to pay anybody as a head coach than anybody
31:14else in the league or is willing to do that, which means the top talent should
31:17always flock to the Dallas Cowboys as a dream job and situation. And quite
31:21frankly, they're very non hands on with their own. Like it's jerry jones
31:26usually is back in these guys, even though we all thought macarthur is
31:28getting fired this year, just hey, let's say that right now. Like let's see
31:31what we could do the rest of the year and see what happens at this point. He
31:34did it with jason Garrett in the day of camp was like he does have a long
31:37leash for coaches that he likes and is willing to work with as opposed to like
31:41hey, if you don't get the job done, you're number one. I keep firing you
31:44till I get the right guy. But then again, you end up with brian shottenheim,
31:48which is the least important and understand this jerry jones is getting
31:51older in his age. And sometimes if you think he's making the right head
31:54coaching decision, well more power to you. But you figure as you get older,
31:58it's like I just want to win one more championship. And he starts talking
32:01about we're going all in, which means I thought this all season was sign
32:05everybody leverage our next five year salary cap into making us the best team
32:10we can be over the next year to year and a half. And all they did was go out
32:13and say mike McCarthy, you're fired shottenheimer, you're hired. You always
32:17knew we're going to hire a quarterback. Now he's the highest paid quarterback
32:20out there. Michael parsons going to break the back seat and you have
32:23nothing to show for it. That's the crazy part about this whole thing.
32:26Because let's say something, whether or not it worked. If dion goes to the
32:29cowboys, you are throwing your fan base of bone that says, see that I went out
32:34and got the lightning rod is coached that we expect him in the next 2-3
32:37years to win a super bowl with and you gave them absolutely no hope and no
32:43excitement, which is very anti Dallas to be honest, which it is. And donna,
32:47you mentioned how jerry jones has a long leash and some people think that
32:52is loyalty to me. It is not. It is the other kind of temperamental. It is a
32:57guy so in love with his own persona that he needs power and he needs
33:03leverage and he needs control. And that is why the Dallas Cowboys continue to
33:09have yes men to jerry jones as their head coaches. And that is why the
33:13Dallas Cowboys will not win a super bowl championship. Brian shottenheimer
33:17might have success and for the guy himself that has been in the NFL for 24
33:22seasons trying to earn that head coaching gig. I hope that he does, but
33:26the ends will not justify the means for how jerry jones has conducted things
33:31within this Cowboys franchise the last few years. Other news around the NFL.
33:37By the way, the Chicago Bears filling out their staff, their former head
33:40coach, Matt Eber flutes hired as the D. C. In Dallas, actually a talented
33:44defensive mind that will get notoriety because of his name, but not a bad move.
33:49Declan Doyle, the young 28 year old. Now the O. C. Under Ben Johnson in
33:55Chicago was an assistant in both New Orleans in Denver this past season.
33:59Dennis Allen, former Saints head coach. Now the defensive coordinator again,
34:04maybe not the most successful head coach D. R. S. But a great D. C. In
34:07the NFL. Yeah. By the way, if you're looking for any job that you would want
34:11as a really young coordinator, who even though you're not going to call the
34:14plays in, just attach yourself to Ben Johnson. It has that feeling. If any
34:18that's in Chicago, it's gonna turn into the Sean McVeigh tree where you hold a
34:22cup of water for Sean McVeigh during a game like I need that guy's my O. C.
34:26And head coach. So whoever you are by 30, you're gonna be a head coach. Watch
34:31it. Yep. Yeah. Honestly, it's a pretty good point. Joe Brady pulls out of the
34:36Saints head coaching search. Their former O. C. Quinn Kubiak. Now in
34:39Seattle, Robert Salt back in San Francisco as the D. C. In our three is
34:44up next. Welcome to our number three, our third and final to open up this new
34:50week. It is a Monday on T. E. L. He is Donnie. I am Ben Super Bowl 59. It's
34:56set a rematch glorious two years. What? It's glorious. Super Bowl is glorious,
35:03man. Fantastic. You don't normally interrupt my intros to an hour, but
35:08that's fine as well. But it is what Donnie is discussing. Who do we want to
35:14win? Super Bowl 59. Who is the public feeling by any means? Because outside
35:21of the Kansas City metro area or regional Philadelphia, not many people
35:26were hoping for this Super Bowl matchup. A rematch of Super Bowl 57 in Super
35:31Bowl 59 for the second time in three years. How quickly we sour on elite
35:37things when the chiefs start their dynastic run and they have this
35:41exciting new quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reed trying to finally
35:46win that first Lombardi trophy. It's fun. It's cool. We love to see greatness
35:51and then quickly because we've seen this already. These guys get all the
35:56calls. Screw K C. And the fact that Philadelphia is back in the Super Bowl
36:02for a second time in three years, not exactly earning the public's favor as
36:08well. So they are us. You call it glorious. Let's dive right in. We had
36:13to ask the people all of you out there which team will win Super Bowl 59. We
36:19find out together and fade the public
36:29not. Who would you want to win? As we do understand most of the public
36:33sentiment to this matchup. But which team will win Super Bowl 59 in New
36:39Orleans? 13 days from now, the Chiefs or the Eagles. It is basically a money
36:45line. Pick them. It's a point and a half spread and the public is kind of
36:50backing that up. It is razor thin, 51.5% back in the birds in our fade.
36:56The public Paul 48.5 on Kansas City. Now, Donny, you are a lifelong
37:03Eagles fan, but you have mentioned a few times here in these first two hours
37:07plus of this show. How can you pick against Kansas City? So which way did
37:13you vote in the fade? The public poll? I vote the Eagles. Of course, which team
37:18will win the Super Bowl? The Philadelphia Eagles. Absolutely. We
37:20gotta start. We gotta get the avalanche started in the right direction to get
37:23all the vibes. I give you rolling in New Orleans where people understand I
37:26might be picking against the Philadelphia Eagles, even though we
37:29don't most unbiased man on sports grid. There's no doubt about that.
37:33Forget about what anybody's told you before. It is me right now claims the
37:36next two weeks. I will say there will be a lot of those claims. There's one
37:40guy that actually shouldn't be going to the ones that is going because we'll
37:42get to that another time. But the Philadelphia Eagles at 51 51% which is
37:48nice because the bandwagon can fill up. Now understand this. You're asking a
37:51lot of wounded animals out there that are voting in this poll today because
37:55the Eagles knocked out Cinderella with 75% or whatever the tickets coming in
38:00its victory. So there's a lot of hate for the Eagles are going to get
38:02because they beat up Cinderella. But then you're gonna realize like if we
38:05keep this poll going, you see the 51% to the 53 to the 55 to the 58 because we
38:11realized we don't want to see the Chiefs again. We're tired of the
38:14narrative. We don't want to see, you know, Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift on
38:18the field again and Andy retail. You want to go eat a cheeseburger and the
38:21homes in his Kermit voice. Tell you how great the run was this year and let's
38:24do it again next year. We don't want that here. We want to end the dynasty.
38:28We don't want to see three in a row from Kansas City. We don't want to see
38:31the Chiefs fans in New Orleans here eating barbecue ribs down there talking
38:35about their dry rubs better than anything else in the country. You don't
38:38want to see Kansas City anymore. And I agree, which is why this public, the
38:43public right now is correct right now. 51% Eagles burnt ends. That's the key
38:49in case the end of the brisket that is charred and glazed. It is absolutely
38:56beautiful. What is so funny about this matchup, right? It is a rematch for the
39:01second time in three years. It feels tired. It feels played out. Some have
39:07already tried to push back on the narrative that they hate for Kansas
39:10City is unjustified. We love watching greatness. At least we claim to love
39:16the idea of the elite continuing to be elite year over year, game over game.
39:22And yet we are fed up with the Kansas City Chiefs. Enough Patrick Holmes,
39:27enough of Travis or whatever. They're known as Tavis for that couple. We
39:33don't care about Andy Reed against his former organization anymore. But
39:38frankly, we're not in love with Philadelphia either. Birds fans and
39:42chanting fly Eagles fly rub people the wrong way at certain times. I do think
39:50it is a sensational matchup. I am excited and I want this noted right
39:55now. 51.5% of the public saying the Eagles will win 48.5 on the other side
40:03for Kansas City will ask a similar, if not the same exact question come Friday
40:09ahead of Super Bowl Sunday, 11 days from now. And I want it noted where
40:14the public has changed in a long two week lead up to the biggest game of the
40:19year. Donny, when the line opened up last night on Fandul, by the way,
40:22minus 1 30 money line for Casey plus 1 10 other side for the Eagles. Pretty
40:27close to that projected number. It was minus 1 18 money line for Casey, a
40:33slight favorite by less than two dimes in front of the birds. So I know it's
40:398 12 cents. I know it's not all that impactful, but I was a little bit
40:44interested. So I quickly clicked on the stats button on the lovely Fandul
40:49Sportsbook, the great sponsor of this show to see where the early money was
40:53coming in on F. D. 61% of the money on the spread back in Kansas City, 61% of
41:01the bets back in Kansas City on the spread as well. Still 60% of the money
41:06on the spread on K. C. Only 56% of the bets on the Chiefs. I wonder how the
41:13public love and thus the public handle starts to change in the next 7 to 10
41:18days. Yeah. And also you're when the practice reports start to come in right
41:23in the anticipation because we hit the people gonna hit it right off the bat.
41:26That's what people sharp people do all the time. I think I'm gonna get a
41:28better price right now. I'm gonna take it and I'll see what seats in two weeks
41:31you can buy out. You could scalp, you can head, you could do whatever. But
41:34understand this. If Jalen Hurts isn't wearing the brace here and Landon
41:37Dickerson is fully healthy and sequence says he's felt better in years, that
41:41might get a change here, but we're not anticipating that. Why? Because we don't
41:45have the major injuries to talk about where it's like under secrecy. Like if
41:48we even date it back to 20 2004, the Eagles going to Jackson will take on
41:52the Patriots. Hey, it's Terrell Owens, the best wideout in the league gonna
41:56play like you have a lot of those buildups where you're betting into the
41:59unknown, which is specifically what you were doing with the Eagles yesterday
42:02with Jalen Hurts saying, Hey, I think it's gonna be okay. But what happens if
42:05he wasn't? And yet Kenny Pickett in that football game would say lost last
42:08time to Washington. So for me, I think it's gonna stay the same. You asked me
42:12earlier in the show. I think it'll be shocking if it was a role reversal and
42:15the Eagles turned into a favorite here because again, the same concept I've
42:19been preaching with Kansas City for a long time. If you tell me to my face,
42:23Donny, understand if you think the Eagles are more talented team, I have
42:26my homes in Andy Reed in a Super Bowl and I just have to win the game. I'm
42:29taking it. I say, you know what? More power to you. I can't even argue with
42:33you. Yeah. And Donny, I do believe it makes it easier to hate the Chiefs even
42:39if they are an ever so slight favorite 44 cents of money line difference
42:43because then they can't play the role of the underdog and use the ethos of
42:48nobody believes in us as they have in their last two Super Bowl victories.
42:53Now, let me ask you, we talked about this leading up to pro football today
42:57on Sunday for conference championship weekend. Two guys on that desk, Kevin
43:02Walsh, Donny, right side, big time backers of the birds, lifelong Eagles
43:06fans. There was one other guy, Jolie, who was back in the Washington
43:11commanders to win outright a serving of humble pie in a crow that he had to eat
43:16yesterday. Do you think he is doubling down? Do you think he is all on the
43:20Chiefs when you guys head to New Orleans this weekend? No, no, I don't
43:24think the Chiefs are way too mainstream here. So he's going to have a struggle
43:27in this because he's he's not going to take any Mahomes props. He's not gonna
43:30take any Jalen Hurts props. He's not gonna take any Travis Kelsey props or
43:34Saquon Barkley props like this could be the great Calcutta Terry game. Like
43:40that's what I feel like I'm gonna hear on the desk over the next two weeks as
43:43that's the guy or how about Noah Gray here, Ben? That's what I think. We're
43:49gonna hear that. Yep. Listen, the guy was like Jawan Jennings over 29 and a
43:54half last year in Vegas and Jawan Jennings at the game of his life. So
43:59maybe he's on live right here on the early line on sports grid. There is
44:04just one more football game this NFL season. Of course it is the biggest each
44:10and every year. 13 days from now, Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs
44:16and the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans. Then the next few big events on
44:21the NFL offseason calendar scouting combine at the end of February into the
44:27first weekend of March 2025 NFL draft in late April in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
44:35That's where the four or seven rounds of the NFL draft are going to be. You gotta
44:42hope that it's an early spring. Poxitani Phil sees his shadow and things are
44:47good up there in the great state of Wisconsin. Why you're not going? Why are
44:52you shaking your head? What does it matter to you? I just I don't I just
44:56don't understand things in life. You know what I mean? Like most of the time
44:59like understand how like CEOs move and operate right and big companies here.
45:03Like let's just say we're all based in the northeast to go. We're gonna have a
45:06retreat. They don't go to Ontario, Canada or Saskatchewan. They go down to
45:11Miami and Florida. They go to New Orleans. They go to Arizona. They go to
45:15Southern California. People want to be in a party atmosphere. You can walk
45:18outdoors, not go outdoors and have eight feet of snow. Stop the madness
45:23here. Stop putting things in the north corridor in the winter. Put it down
45:28south, please. And I was well done. It's not the winner for the draft. It's still
45:31winter. Green Bay to like August 1st, I believe April 24th through the 26th in
45:38Green Bay, Wisconsin, in title town outside of historic Lambeau Field. They
45:44also just named 2026 NFL drafts. Locale. Where is it? Yes, where? Yes, where?
45:50What Cleveland again? Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Oh,
45:56it's where the 2026 NFL draft is going to be. It seems clear, Donny. They're
46:02almost giving the NFL draft and the celebration of that area to places that
46:07aren't really going to host the Super Bowl. They've done a couple of cold
46:11weather Super Bowl cities in the last decade plus, right? A couple of years
46:16ago, they did it here in the northeast in New Jersey. They did it in
46:19Minneapolis. What? 56 years ago. I don't think that's going to be the case ever
46:24again because they got so much snow in the Twin Cities that week. I think
46:29they're kind of awarding other NFL cities the NFL draft.
46:34Yeah, come on. Warm weather wins. People stop the madness at this point. I don't
46:39know. We could go on for like three hours on this, you know, Indianapolis
46:43and all this to stop the madness. Just get it down south at the temperature is
46:46not 70 or above. It should be hosting anything anywhere at any time. So it's
46:52an interesting week, though, in NFL draft cycles because we had the East
46:55West Shrine game over the weekend. We're starting to see those prospects
46:59practice on the field against one another. We've got the senior bowl this
47:03week in Mobile, Alabama. And Donna, we have seen changing odds for that first
47:07overall selection in the last 45 days or so. That is going to be the case
47:13always during a draft cycle. It is draft season. It is smoke screen season. We
47:19know all of that, but we know the top two teams that are drafting first and
47:23second, the Titans number one, the Browns number two. At this moment, both
47:27franchises seem in desperate need of a quarterback. We heard from new Titans
47:33general manager Mike Borgonzi at his introductory press conference last week
47:36in Nashville in so many words, saying we're going to take the best prospect
47:41that we can. We're not going to pass on a generational talent. So people like,
47:45oh my God, generational talent guy plays both ways. Heisman winner and
47:49Travis Hunter. He's now going to be the first overall pick. And then there were
47:53some reports from draft gurus saying you guys misread that still think
47:58Tennessee looks at a quarterback. But if they're talking about a
48:01generational talent, it's not Travis Hunter, who more than likely is not
48:06going to play on both sides of the football in the NFL in elite
48:09cornerback, a good wide receiver. It's actually Abdul Carter who put that on
48:14display for Penn State and certainly in a college football playoff. So now
48:19Hunter and Carter tied for the second best price of plus to 10, both less
48:24than a buck behind. Still that favorite to go first. Overall, Miami's
48:28quarterback DRS in Cam Ward at plus 1 30. I tend to agree with what they're
48:33showing there in that price points there. For me, I do think Cam, what is
48:36the best quarterback? And if you're drafting number one need a quarterback,
48:38what do you do, Ben? You draft the best quarterback in the draft, which is Cam
48:41Ward. But I don't think I can fault any team for saying, okay, we're not
48:45gonna reach on a quarterback and I'm not even look, I'm not saying Shador
48:47Sanders isn't gonna be a really good NFL quarterback, but I want to remove
48:50myself from that top quarterback. It's Cam Ward. He's gonna go. But can you
48:54pass on a guy that might be a really good cornerback pro bowl guy for the
48:58next 10 to 15 years in Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter? Do you watch how NFL
49:03games are one where you have to absolutely triple team one guy on the
49:07outside, like a Micah Parsons just to stay in the game plan here. I love
49:11Abdul Carter. I agree with the fans of sports. We just posted with odds
49:14there, Ben. A lot to be decided. Not exactly the most stellar quarterback
49:19class in 2025. Prompt perspective. TV talk 13 days away from the big game in
49:25the big easy Super Bowl Sunday for Super Bowl 59 between the Chiefs and
49:31the Eagles. But it is never too early to get the best of a number and that
49:36prop perspective with TV. Tom Vecchio of sports grid live right here on
49:41sports grid on a Monday morning on the early line on sports grid. Tom Vecchio.
49:47As always, we appreciate the time excited to look at those early prompt
49:51numbers for Super Bowl 59 with you and find those edges where we can. Of
49:57course, thanks for having me. I have already been diving into some of these
50:00props as literally exactly 12 hours ago. I was doing the recap show last
50:05night after the Chiefs came away with the victory and diving into some of
50:09those props, giving an early look at those and some of the lines have
50:12already moved. So the total jump up just a little bit. The money line has
50:15moved just a little bit in favor of the Chiefs and the props and the juice are
50:19moving. Let's get to it all. Yeah, the numbers are out there for those early
50:25markets, both from the prop bets and of course the spread money line and total
50:30a point and a half. Vecchio in favor of the Chiefs, hoping to make history and
50:35win a third consecutive Lombardi Trophy minus 1 32 on the money line. But as
50:40has been the case at a few stops throughout this postseason, we're
50:43talking less than 50 cents of difference in those money line numbers
50:47and a total at 49 and a half. So once again, Vecchio, we are expecting a
50:53highly competitive in high scoring game in Super Bowl 59. Do you think the
50:58actual game play will follow those early odds? I do. I also expect that
51:04number 49 and a half. I expected to get up to 50 at some point. Will it close
51:08at 50? You know, once we get two weeks from yesterday, will we close the 50?
51:13Maybe not. But I do expect that at least flash there for some portion of a day
51:17as we move throughout things, obviously different injury reports and come out,
51:20etcetera, etcetera. But I expected to move up a little bit. I don't mind
51:23taking under at that point under 50. I think we're gonna be in for this field
51:27goal type of game, as you'd expect. I think diving into what we should be
51:30expecting from the offense is obviously will lead us to very, very
51:34specific props of where we should be looking. Obviously, the sake one number
51:37is super high. Who's going to be scoring? Or you can see a bounce back
51:40game from Travis Kelsey. All these things have to be discussed over the
51:43next two weeks, and I expect some of these props to move dramatically, right?
51:47Like a sake one number that was 1 14 last night. I wouldn't be surprised to
51:51see that close at 1 21 24 plus somewhere around there when we're taking a look
51:56at the Super Bowl. Obviously, Tom, it usually lends us ourselves to really
51:59put the microscope under the quarterbacks. The question, which was
52:02very tough. I don't over 1 79.5 yesterday on Jalen Hurts. But even
52:06coming into that game, Tom, I wasn't sure what Jalen Hurts I was going to
52:10get there. Now, granted, he cruised over that. Now you see Jalen Hurts
52:13supposed to be much more healthy in a Super Bowl in an environment that's
52:16gonna be in a dome on a fast track at 2 10.5 Patrick Holmes at 2 51.5. If we
52:21just start with the quarterbacks going up against very good defenses, are you
52:24leaning one way to another on either one of these guys? You know, I want to
52:29lean on the over on the yards for hurts. Just I think that's what we
52:32should be seeing. It shouldn't be all sake one on the ground. Obviously, we
52:35know that Steve Spagnuolo is gonna like draw something up that they're going
52:38to try and eliminate sake one as much as they possibly can. It's only gonna
52:41happen to a certain degree, but you know, hurts should be pushing to that
52:45200. I'm gonna say threshold. It's not to say that he can't have 200 and
52:49say coin can't have 100 plus on the ground. They have a well balanced
52:51attack, but that's I think where we should be seeing the Eagles offense and
52:55maybe it's going against the grade like they expect them to run the ball. So
52:57it's like, hey, why don't we flex the passing just a little bit more and
53:00trying to exploit as much as we possibly can. We did see Alan move the
53:03ball pretty effectively throughout the year. They also moved it awesomely on
53:06the ground yesterday against the chief. So I think there will be a very
53:08balanced attack for the Eagles. I also think that looking to my home
53:11specifically for over 35 and a half passing attempts is where we should be
53:15seeing. You know, only 26 and 25 in the first two games of plans, but he ended
53:19the regular season 37 passing attempts or more in nine of the last 10 games.
53:23As I said last night, like this is where the rubber meets the road for the
53:27chiefs. At the end of the day, I think cream honey was solid last night and
53:30he's, I think he's looking better than Pacheco, which is why I have interest
53:33in Pacheco under, but my homes will have the ball in his hands at the end of
53:36the day when it's all said and done. So over 35 half attempts, it was a minus
53:39one for the juices moving a little bit. I started minus 1 27 this morning.
53:44Thank you. The first bet that I made for Super Bowl 59 is not Patrick Mahomes
53:49and his right arm. It's utilizing those legs as you have there. There is so
53:54much sample size on Patrick Mahomes now in the postseason and games that
53:59matter most, making sure he takes off and picks up chunks on the ground. 46
54:04rushing yards last night, 11 attempts to rushing scores. Why do you believe
54:10that continues into Super Bowl 59 against Philly? Well, I mean, all the
54:14things you just said, plus just the general pressure that the Eagles can
54:18bring on defense, I think is going to cause it. Mahomes is gonna have to
54:22scramble, but we saw like some design run place for Mahomes last night on
54:26those, you know, going out to the flat on fourth down. So we add in the
54:30pressure plus the design run plays like Mahomes should be able to get there.
54:33Now, last time I did discuss Mahomes six and a half rushing attempts.
54:36Obviously, the yards are always safer compared to the attempt. I think they
54:40can both get there, but obviously I would side with yards at 28 and a half
54:44as I spoke about last night. I'm already in on that spot as well.
54:47Yeah, I'm excited to see how this game plays out. Certainly the next two weeks
54:50we have so many chances and opportunities to go back on these. But
54:53the opening lines, as you said, Tom, are going to change now. Interesting
54:56enough, we saw some intricacies yesterday. A. J. Brown not seeing the
55:00ball lot saw the ball yesterday and scored a touchdown. Travis Kelsey has
55:04been on an absolute crazy run over his past. What? Dozen or so playoff games.
55:09He has 19 yards worth of catches. So you see the Super Bowl, the two lead
55:12dogs. It's Kelsey 64 and a half. A. J. Brown, 67 and a half. Are we top dog
55:17hunting in the passing game, Tom? Are there other options that you're looking
55:21for so far in the Super Bowl? I've been coming on the show for how many years
55:25at this point? And what do I always say? Right? The secondary. It's a tertiary
55:29options. Doesn't matter. The last season doesn't matter. It's the first
55:31game of the season. I'm sticking with that. And as I said last night, it's
55:35the Vaughn to Smith over four and a half receptions. Obviously, the chiefs
55:39are gonna do everything they possibly can to stop safe on. Also, we have to
55:42look back to the Super Bowl that we saw A. J. That they played a couple years
55:45ago. A. J. Brown burned them for that long touchdown, 45 yards. So they're
55:48gonna be diverting extra resources to stop safe one. They're gonna be
55:51diverting extra resources to stop a long shot to A. J. Brown. Something's
55:55gonna be left open and either it's going to be Devonta Smith or Dallas
55:58Goddard. And I saw Dallas Goddard's reception profit three and a half. It
56:00was minus 1 68. So there's a lot of juice on it. So I lean towards the
56:04yards on Dallas Goddard and the receptions for Devonta Smith. Some of
56:07these secondary options will play a role. Not Johan Dotson, but Devonta
56:11Smith. Seven grabs on nine targets for the century mark. That's 100 yards for
56:17Devonta Smith in that first matchup in Super Bowl 57 out in Glendale. Vecchio.
56:23I wasn't here now, I guess last Tuesday as you guys were looking at the Super
56:28Bowl 59 MVP odds entering championship weekend in the NFL. But I heard a
56:34rumor and a little birdie tell me that your thought process for where the
56:38value was in the MVP hardware for the biggest game of the year was very
56:42similar to what it was last year. Betting Christian McCaffrey early, the
56:4649ers running back because he might have a better price and outlook to win the
56:50Super Bowl MVP award than his quarterback Brock Purdy. Well, lucky
56:55here. Saquon Barkley a shorter price to win Super Bowl 59 MVP award in front of
57:02Jalen Hurts. Is there still value on the board in Barkley? If not, where else
57:07might you look? Yeah, I think Barkley is probably the only option I would look
57:13to at this point if I didn't already have a Barkley ticket, which I do. I
57:16spoke about this on numerous recap shows. It was before the Packers was
57:22after the Packers lost to the Eagles. I was talking about like, oh, we could be
57:25looking at a Gibbs ticket. You could be looking at Derrick Henry ticket,
57:27Saquon ticket. Those were at 15 16 to 1. And that's where you wanted to be
57:31because in all reality, if the Eagles won the Super Bowl, I'm gonna say 60% of
57:34the time, Saquon would be winning MVP. 35% of the time would be Hurts. And
57:38then there's a very small chance that would be like a Jalen Carter or Zach
57:42Bond making some like massive defensive. The same thing to be said about
57:45Karl Loftus on the other side. So if you want to take longer shots, that's
57:48where I would go. In theory, if the Chiefs were to win, I'm gonna say nine
57:52times out of 10, it would be Mahomes. So if you don't have a Chiefs future and
57:56you want to say, I'm gonna take a Mahomes MVP ticket plus money instead
57:58of laying out on the money line for the Chiefs, that would be a spot to look
58:02as well. Yeah, I think it's a really good 0.3 Super Bowl championships for
58:06Casey. So far, Mahomes has been the MVP all three times. Vecchio quickly on
58:12the ice tonight. What's the best play to build up the bankroll before Super
58:16Bowl Sunday? Yeah, let's just keep it really simple tonight. Connor McDavid
58:20goal plus 1 30. He's come. This is his first game back after a three game
58:24suspension, which was maybe unwarranted, maybe warranted. It maybe should have
58:28been one game. He's back. He's at home. Plus 1 34 goal tonight. Donnie was
58:33telling me about McDavid suspension. He thought it was warranted, though. Plus
58:361 30 to tickle the twine for the fast job. Thank you so much.
