00:10With the increasing number of microplastics floating in the ocean,
00:14and mixing with our food,
00:17some are asking, is it still possible to get rid of it?
00:20Grade 11 students of Pasay National Science High School have an idea
00:24that they made a prototype.
00:26Come on, let's change the game!
00:28🎵 Intro Music 🎵
00:35Because plastic is not biodegradable,
00:38it will continue to be crushed until it becomes tiny microplastics.
00:46It is estimated that more than 170 trillion microplastics are floating in the ocean.
00:53What's more,
00:55there are already microplastics in human blood based on other studies.
01:00But is it still possible to get rid of microplastics if it is mixed with water?
01:05That is the goal of Grade 11 students,
01:07Elijah, Karl, and Gavin of Pasay National Science High School
01:11with their prototype, Aquaspira.
01:15What are the problems in our environment right now?
01:19Under pollution or the microplastics
01:21that we are having a hard time getting rid of in our waters.
01:27The concept and design was based on the Archimedes' screw
01:31to lift the water.
01:33But here, the screw inside was filled with cellulose acetate
01:37to hold the microplastics while the water rises.
01:43To put their idea to the test,
01:45they first used recycled materials and 3D printed spiral
01:49to build the prototype.
01:51As the screw runs and turns,
01:54water is brought upwards and eventually exits out.
01:58To visualize how Aquaspira works,
02:03we have a prototype.
02:05What the Archimedes' screw will do is,
02:07when water enters, it will lift the water here,
02:11to the top and to the main spiral.
02:14They also added cellulose acetate to the main spiral
02:19to hold the microplastics.
02:22The Archimedes' screw is now rotating inside Aquaspira.
02:28We can see that the microplastics are getting closer
02:32and we can see that it has already collected a lot of microplastics.
02:38Their concept,
02:39included in the finals of the Science Innovation Expo
02:43of the Regional Science and Technology Fair.
02:46There you have it, Kapuso.
02:47From prototype,
02:48I hope we can also see in action such innovations
02:52that can greatly help in solving the problem of plastic pollution.
02:56For J-May Integrated News,
02:58I'm Martin Avere,
02:59Changing the Game!
03:02A viral video of a woman whose eyes cannot be opened
03:07after having her gluten pressed as a whitening agent.
03:11Although the condition is not directly related to gluten,
03:16the Philippine Dermatological Society is still worried
03:20about using it as a whitening agent.
03:24Darlene Khan is on the scene.
03:29I made a video asking for prayers
03:32for my past recovery and awareness.
03:35In Jelly Matcha's viral online video,
03:37she blames her eyes for not being able to open her eyes
03:40after having her gluten pressed.
03:42I had an infection in my gluten drip session.
03:45The nurse who pressed me didn't know about it.
03:48The first time she pressed me here,
03:50she took the needle
03:52and my root popped right away.
03:55She tried again here
03:57and it popped again.
03:59After two days,
04:01It hurts so much.
04:03I can't stop it anymore.
04:05I went straight to the ER.
04:07I took vinegar.
04:08In the new video,
04:10Jelly was able to open one of her eyes.
04:12According to her ophthalmologist,
04:14she had an infection and the nerves in her eyes were affected.
04:17My vision now,
04:19the concern,
04:21I was able to open my eyes but
04:23as you can see in the eyeball,
04:25I can see a little but
04:27my vision is three.
04:28According to the board certified ophthalmologist,
04:31Dr. Ethos Yutangco,
04:32generally,
04:34IV drugs,
04:36gluta for example,
04:38generally do not cause
04:40infections
04:42except if
04:44either the drug is contaminated
04:47or the needle used,
04:49the needle,
04:51the paraphernalia used
04:53for the drug to enter.
04:55I didn't see
04:57an infection,
04:59an IV gluta related infection
05:01in the eye
05:03directly caused by
05:05the IV gluta.
05:07However,
05:08the Food and Drug Administration of the FDA
05:10has not yet approved gluta drip or gluta IV
05:12as a skin lightening agent or whitening agent.
05:14IV glutathione has
05:16only been approved by the FDA
05:18for the mitigation
05:20of the side effects of chemotherapy
05:22from cisplatin.
05:24They call it neurotoxicity.
05:26It is one of the possible effects of thyroid,
05:28stones, and liver.
05:29It can be toxicity, abnormalities,
05:31gastritis,
05:33kidney failure,
05:35severe skin problems,
05:37side effects,
05:39allergies.
05:40It is also dangerous for other IV drip
05:42such as vitamin C drip.
05:44If the dose is too high,
05:46at some point,
05:47the urine can be too acidic
05:49and cause kidney stones.
05:51It is different if the doctor recommended
05:53gluta drip because it is light
05:55and it is more painful
05:57like Candy's rheumatic fever.
05:59When I was not yet diagnosed
06:01with autoimmune disease,
06:03I started taking IV drip
06:05because my hands
06:07were painful.
06:09I could not bend.
06:11It was always swollen.
06:13Since I started
06:15taking IV drip,
06:17it did not hurt anymore.
06:19This is considered
06:21as a medicine for cancer.
06:23We consider it as a cancer medicine.
06:25So, if it is used
06:27for whitening,
06:29it is definitely not approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
06:31That is why since 2019,
06:3320 million pesos worth of
06:35illegal whitening products were
06:37confiscated by the FDA as gluta drip.
06:39There are also oral glutathione products
06:41or ingested glutathione registered by the FDA.
06:43However, it is also not allowed
06:45to be promoted as a whitening product.
06:47The Department of Health used
06:49glutathione as a whitening product
06:51for the GMA Integrated News.
06:53Darlene Cai was charged for 24 hours.
06:55The Justice Department
06:57withdrew the case against
06:59the leaders of the Government
07:01Vaccine Program against Dengue.
07:03Salima Refrang was charged.
07:09The pictures of their
07:11proud children are stupid.
07:13The parents and the children
07:15of the children who died
07:17because of Dengvaxia
07:19This is when they
07:21reported that the DOJ
07:23withdrew 68 cases
07:25of reckless imprudence resulting
07:27to homicide against the former
07:29Health Secretary and now Representative
07:31Janet Garin and two others.
07:33I want justice to be used.
07:35I hope, Secretary,
07:37you will have mercy on us.
07:39Just like me,
07:41who has no conscience.
07:43There are parents of the children
07:45who were killed by the Government.
07:47However, Garin and the doctors
07:49Gerardo Bayugo and
07:51Maria Joyce Ducusin were the
07:53leaders of the Vaccination Program
07:55of the Government for the controversial
07:57vaccine Dengvaxia against Dengue.
07:59This was blamed
08:01for the deaths of some
08:03of the children who were vaccinated.
08:05But after the DOJ reviewed the case,
08:07Justice Secretary
08:09Jesus Crispin Remulla said in the resolution
08:11that no prima facie case
08:13was seen with reasonable
08:15degree of conviction against them.
08:17He also said that there was no
08:19negligence in following the
08:21process of the respondents.
08:23Remulla added that the negligence
08:25of malicious intent of the respondents
08:27cannot be compensated for the
08:29collusion and alliance
08:31to commit reckless imprudence.
08:33The connection
08:35to the result
08:37of the deaths of the children is far.
08:39It's very unfortunate really.
08:41But the problem there is
08:43the connection.
08:45Was this act or omission the one that resulted
08:47to the death or to the injury?
08:49That's the first basic question
08:51in all criminal prosecution.
08:53And unfortunately,
08:55we were not able to see that
08:57after a closer review.
08:59The victims of Dengvaxia
09:01will join Remulla
09:03to continue the case.
09:05Please have mercy.
09:07Let us show
09:09that we can use
09:11justice.
09:13The remedy may not be criminal.
09:15There could be claims of civil
09:17damages to anyone.
09:19We don't want to speculate,
09:21but that's the challenge for their lawyers
09:23to craft a legal strategy
09:25that may afford them
09:27some help
09:29and some support,
09:31some kind of assistance
09:33for the compensation
09:35for all their hard work.
09:37Garin is thankful for the decision of DOJ.
09:39We really laud DOJ
09:41for coming up
09:43with the facts.
09:45When DOJ clarified,
09:47Garin, Bayugo, and Ducusi
09:49filed a petition for review
09:51on the contents of the resolution.
09:53But other accused may also file a petition.
09:55For JMA Integrated News,
09:57I'm Nima Rafra,
09:59for 24 Hours.
10:01House Appropriations Committee
10:03Acting Chairperson Stella Kimbo
10:05admitted that there are
10:07blancos in the BICAM report
10:09of the 2025 National Budget,
10:11but none in the Enrolled Bill
10:13passed by the President.
10:15She also insisted that even if there are blancos
10:17in the report,
10:19the funds for all the items in the budget
10:21before they were signed
10:23by the BICAM members are already there.
10:25John Tanaanda has the facts.
10:29It's true that there are blancos
10:31in the BICAM report
10:33of the 2025 National Budget
10:35as pronounced by the Congress.
10:37According to the representative Stella Kimbo
10:39Acting Chairman of the
10:41Appropriations Committee of Camera.
10:43But we do acknowledge that there are blancos
10:45in the BICAM report
10:47that were passed by the BICAM
10:49and we're identifying them.
10:51So notwithstanding any
10:53typographical errors,
10:55or any adjustments that are
10:57needed as result of amendments,
10:59I authorized
11:01the technical staff
11:03of both House and Senate to make all of these necessary corrections.
11:09But Kimbo said, even if there are blancos, the funds are already allocated to all items in the budget
11:15before the BICAM members sign the BICAM report.
11:18The technical staff of the House and Senate are authorized to make uniai corrections to the funds
11:24based on this omnibus motion in the BICAM report.
11:28All of the corrections made by our technical staff, all of them are just ministerial.
11:35Meaning, it's just a calculator activity.
11:39So, they don't have discretion anymore because everything is already decided by the BICAM members
11:46at the point of signing.
11:48But the media asked Kimbo,
11:51Is it considered a typographical error to build in the blancos in Malacar?
11:55There are some. There are some typographical errors.
11:59Because some of them are not visible.
12:03Because of the omnibus motion, it's not allowed to put numbers.
12:07Meaning, it's not allowed to place numbers.
12:10And there is another omnibus provision in the BICAM
12:14that in case the printed version and the BICAM report are different,
12:21the printed version will prevail.
12:24Kimbo said, the 2025 budget of this enrolled bill is not blank.
12:29So, what does she mean?
12:31It is legal. It is fully enforceable. It is valid.
12:35Because our enrolled bill, meaning the general appropriations bill
12:42that came from the Congress is complete.
12:46There is no blank.
12:47So, that's basically the reason for why the basis of the GAA is also complete.
12:54Kimbo said, the 2025 budget is not based on politics.
13:00We are trying to get Malacanang and Senado to speak on what Kimbo said.
13:05But before, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said,
13:08there is no blank in the enrolled bill that was brought to the palace and signed by the President.
13:12Whatever questions about the BICAM report, the Congress should answer.
13:17For GMA Integrated News, Jonathan Andal, Nakatutok, 24 Hours.
13:22A man was killed in a shooting at Rodriguez Rizal.
13:27He was shot in the middle of the road.
13:30He was first taken home for chase and beating
13:33before he was killed.
13:35The last crime was the shooting of Rafi Tima.
13:41The owner of this dashcam video will be brought to the school.
13:45One of the two men pulled the trigger in front of his car
13:49and he was shot.
13:53Even though he was hit, the victim still grabbed the gunman.
13:56Later, the gunman stood up and ran behind the car.
14:06Even though he was afraid of being witnessed,
14:08he decided to upload the video to help the investigation.
14:12It's good that his children did not see the victim who was shot
14:16and who was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
14:19The wife and child of the victim, Toto Garcia,
14:22was the only one who was brought to the scene.
14:24The incident started in the middle of the road.
14:27My husband was given justice.
14:30He was just looking for a job.
14:33I don't think he committed a crime.
14:36If he was shot, they brought him to the hospital.
14:40It's not a bad thing to go to the barangay because that's the only thing that can be resolved.
14:45According to the wife of the victim,
14:47the CCTV camera was taken less than an hour before the incident.
14:51Garcia was riding his bike when an e-trike cut him.
14:56He was taken to the hospital.
14:58The biker was shot twice while the e-trike driver was running.
15:02The e-trike driver was injured.
15:04His family came to Romesvac to help Garcia.
15:08He was able to go to the barangay,
15:10but when he got home, the family of the e-trike driver was waiting
15:14and they started shooting.
15:16The CCTV footage showed how the son of Garcia was shooting while his mother was crying.
15:21When he was going to shoot me again, his mother stopped him.
15:25I turned around to hit him and he hit me in the back.
15:28The father of the suspect defended the son of the e-trike driver.
15:31The e-trike driver's brother was injured when he was shot twice
15:35so they confronted the biker.
15:37Because of the e-trike driver and his family,
15:39Garcia chased them and he was shot here.
15:43Why was the son of the e-trike driver shot?
15:44I don't know, sir.
15:46You don't know that he was shot?
15:48I don't know.
15:49They are helping the investigators to convict the son of the e-trike driver.
15:54The Montalban Police refused to give a statement while the investigation is ongoing.
15:59For GMI Integrated News, Rafi Tima, 24 Hours.
16:08This is it. It really is it.

17:18Kuya, first of all, I just want to make it clear that you will still let me go out of your house, right?
17:25Because I still have children outside the house and they need me.
17:31Before I answer that.
17:34Hey, Kuya!
17:36I just want to say and let you know.
17:41Okay.
17:43Am I nervous?
17:48Congratulations on your fifth pregnancy.
17:51Thank you, Kuya.
17:53You, Kuya. You're scaring me.
17:56No, but Kuya, seriously, thank you for welcoming me into your home.

18:50Because of this year,
18:52the family and the hearts will be together in my house to be housemates.
19:02What? Oh my goodness.
19:05Who would have ever thought this is humongous news?
19:11Really, Kuya?
19:13No doubt.
19:15Oh my goodness.
19:16But Kuya, I guess we also want to know
19:20what kind of housemates will you let in for this season
19:24so that there will be hearts and families?
19:28In the next opening of my house,
19:31I will continue to have stars
19:34because the housemates that will be together under one roof
19:40are stars from SPARKLE

19:59Wait. What? From SPARKLE?
