00:00A magnitude 5.8 earthquake was experienced in Southern Leyte this morning,

00:05followed by a magnitude 5.4 earthquake in Zamboanga del Norte.

00:10FEVOX assured that the affected areas will not be affected by the tsunami.

00:15This is what Rod Lagusa reported.

00:18Some parts of Southern Leyte were hit by lightning after it was hit by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake this morning.

00:25In the images shared by a resident in Liloan, Southern Leyte,

00:30you can see that the roads here are split.

00:33The shops in this store were collapsed.

00:36The cases of alcohol and soft drinks also spread.

00:39The inside of the house is also in chaos following the earthquake.

00:42Based on FEVOX data,

00:44at 7 in the morning, the earthquake hit a depth of 11 kilometers.

00:48The center of the earthquake was recorded in the town of San Francisco in Southern Leyte,

00:53where the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at intensity 6.

00:56Intensity 5 was felt in various towns in the province, including Ubay, Bohol.

01:01There are buildings that are cracked and the roads are flat.

01:06There are also earthquakes in the landslides.

01:08And what happened here is an active fault west of Panaon Island in the sea.

01:15It's low, it's 11 kilometers, but a magnitude 5.8 earthquake cannot produce a tsunami.

01:22Usually, our tsunami would be around 7 and above.

01:25As of 1.30 p.m., according to FEVOX,

01:27up to 73 aftershocks were recorded with a magnitude of 1.6 to 2.9.

01:34But none of these were felt.

01:36Before noon, past 11.30 p.m.,

01:39a magnitude 5.4 earthquake hit the part of Siocon in Buanga del Norte.

01:44FEVOX first recorded a magnitude 6.1 earthquake,

01:47but it was also downgraded after recalculation.

01:50Intensity 5 was only found in Siocon, Buanga del Norte,

01:53Ipil, Buanga Cebugay, and the city of Isabela.

01:5643 kilometers is considered as a deep earthquake.

02:00And the source of this would be the Sulu Trench.

02:04When we say intensity 5,

02:06it's a bit strong.

02:11Intensity 5 is considered as strong

02:14and generally felt by most people indoors and outdoors.

02:19And the hanging objects would swing violently.

02:24As of 1.30 p.m.,

02:26two aftershocks were recorded here,

02:28with a magnitude 2.1 being the strongest here.
