00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. I'm Theo Heusenbeth and this is our Property Roundup for the week.
00:05Today we have two major topics. The first is the development of Holt Town, which could be transformed into a brand new woodland village or town, however you want to call it.
00:14The area has its own Metrolink stop and is near to the Etihad campus, so the opportunities are pretty boundless really.
00:21The plans would effectively create a completely new town within the City of Manchester, with 4,500 new homes and green areas, with a cultural hub and Lido also suggested in the plans.
00:32The plans themselves have undergone public consultation and attracted 10,000 website visits and 411 formal responses showing strong support for the vision of a mixed-use residential-led neighbourhood outlined in the Draft Neighbourhood Development Framework.
00:46The Manchester City Council are meeting on the proposal this week and Councillor Baird Craig has said that the neighbourhood will represent a people-first focus around active travel, green spaces and community.
00:57It looks like a really exciting proposition and I look forward to seeing how it progresses.
01:02For our second story this week we're going to be looking at a piece put out by Patrick Hollis, who's been looking at purple bricks for good listings here in Manchester.
01:10Manchester City Centre can feel like a tricky place to get on the property ladder, but this one-bedroom apartment is located in a central location in Manchester City Centre and is listed for just under £200,000.
01:21Residing on Whitworth Street West, you'll not be far from being in the middle of the hustle and bustle of city life.
01:27The top floor flat has been finished to a higher standard and has stunning views of the city's canals from the private balcony.
01:34This should make for a lovely spot to end a busy day.
01:37The property itself is located just a 5 minute walk away from Manchester Oxford Road Station and Deansgate Tram Station, with Manchester Piccadilly being just a 15 minute walk.
01:46So it'll be really easy to get around the city.
01:49The apartment is listed on purple bricks and does look like it's worth a further investigation, so please feel free to peruse further yourself.
01:55Those are our big property stories for the week, so thank you very much for watching and we'll see you again soon.
