00:05in his conversation with our Foreign Affairs Secretary.

00:08Rubio also reiterated that he is biased and does not agree with the law

00:13that China should remain within the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines.

00:55Rubio said that in his conversation with Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo.

01:01According to the U.S. Department of State, Rubio said that China's action

01:06is against regional peace and stability and does not comply with international law.

01:13Rubio also said that Manalo's ironclad commitment of the U.S. to the Philippines

01:20is under the Mutual Defense Treaty or MDT.

01:24The MDT is an agreement between the U.S. and the Philippines

01:29in which the U.S. and the Philippines are obliged to defend each other

01:35in the event of an armed attack on any maritime vehicle

01:39in order to prevent the Philippines or the U.S. from entering the waters of the West Philippine Sea.

01:45Manalo also said that Rubio and China discussed the importance of the alliance between the U.S. and the Philippines

01:52for the security and development of the Indo-Pacific region.

01:57Manalo hopes that the strong relationship between the U.S. and the Philippines will continue.

02:04In addition to Rubio, Japan also expressed concern about the actions of the China Coast Guard in the Philippines.

02:26especially with the alarming frequency of harassment by China Coast Guard vessels against Philippine ships.

02:32In the midst of this, America's Tafon missile system, which continues to remain in the Philippines,

02:39was transferred to the United States based on a report by the Reuters News Agency.

02:44According to these satellite photos taken by Reuters,

02:48the Tafon equipment can still be seen at Lawag International Airport in Ilocos Norte on December 30.

02:55By January 8, these were no longer there.

02:59According to Reuters, the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command said that it was transferred to an unidentified location in Luzon.

03:07The Tafon uses Tomahawk cruise missiles that can deploy missiles to China and Russia from the Philippines.

03:17It also has SM-6 missiles that can hit an air and sea target that is 200 kilometers away.

03:25China has long been concerned about the continuation of the Tafon missile system in the Philippines,

03:30where it is possible for an arms race to start.
