00:00It is officially operational the new ice refining plant, which will produce up to a third of
00:14the European demand for SAF, the fuel sustainable for aviation, intended to reduce the carbon footprint
00:21in the transport sector. This innovative project marks a decisive step in the transition
00:27towards a greener and more sustainable aviation, in line with the objectives of the European Green Deal
00:33and the strategy aimed at reducing the emissions of CO2 from the European Union.
00:38In the next 3-5 years, since the biofuel market from here to the 28th is seen to increase by 65%,
00:46obviously our strategy is to continue in this direction, to continue to convert other sites,
00:53both in Italy and abroad, to make new projects precisely to follow this trend,
00:58and to give everyone the opportunity to decarbonize, both those who use diesel,
01:03but above all to give the possibility to aviation, which does not have many other opportunities
01:08to decarbonize, more and more material, so much so that from here to 2030 we think
01:13to be able to produce up to 2 million tons of biojet.
01:18The plant, located in the heart of Sicily, uses renewable raw materials to produce SAF,
01:24thus reducing the emissions of carbon dioxide up to 80% compared to traditional fossil fuels.
01:31Thanks to a cutting-edge production capacity, this structure becomes a crucial pillar
01:37in the fight against climate change and in the promotion of the decarbonization of the air sector.
01:44With the launch of this plant, Gela is not only a city symbol of technological innovation,
01:50but it becomes a protagonist in the global challenge for a low-emissions future,
01:55said Stefano Ballista, CEO of Anylive.
01:59SAF is currently the only solution for the decarbonization of air transport.
02:06Already today, SAF can be mixed up to 50% in the current engines.
02:14Anylive aims to continue how much it has launched with Gela,
02:21and therefore to increase the production capacity of SAF with the aim of reaching 1 million tons
02:28in the coming years, with further growth up to 2 million tons,
02:33so basically a further doubling by 2030.
02:38Our commitment is double, to significantly contribute to the reduction of the environmental impact of the air sector
02:45and support the local economy, creating new jobs and stimulating technological development.
02:52The support and support to all these conversion plans and all these interventions,
02:57which are important interventions for Sicily, for Italy, but I would also say for Europe,
03:03because from what I have read and I have done a deepening,
03:08the production of SAF here in this plant will be able to provide a third of Europe,
03:15so we are talking about important interventions that increase the production capacity of our land, of this new supplier.
03:25Thanks to these innovative production processes,
03:28Anylive is able to supply sustainable fuel to several airlines,
03:33including ITA, Ryanair, EasyJet and Volotea,
03:37which have already joined the project, committed to reducing CO2 emissions
03:41and to contribute to the environmental goals of the European Union.
03:45This plant not only responds to a growing demand from SAF,
03:49but also offers an opportunity for growth for the entire industrial ecosystem,
03:54enabling the birth of new projects and collaborations in the energy sustainability sector.
04:00With the launch of production on a large scale,
04:03the ice plant represents a reference point for the future of the aviation industry
04:09and for global environmental challenges.
