00:00Good afternoon, it's Monday the 20th of January 2025 and here are the latest transfer headlines from across Yorkshire.
00:07Sheffield United are keen to do plenty of business in the current window before it slams shut and have landed their first January signing.
00:13Ben Brereton Diaz has joined the club on loan from Southampton on a deal running until the end of the season.
00:18He spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield United while on the books of Spanish side Villarreal.
00:24A move to Southampton on a permanent deal in the summer hasn't really worked out for him at St Mary's and Sheffield United have now got him back on loan.
00:32Over at Middlesbrough, the club are reportedly tabling an offer to Plymouth Argyle for Morgan Whittaker.
00:37A very talismanic figure for the Pilgrims, previously linked with Burnley and Hull, and Middlesbrough are said to be keen on him.
00:44Over at Leeds United, in late January, boss Richie Wellens has said they would like to sign Sonny Perkins on a permanent deal from Leeds.
00:52Sonny Perkins joined Leeds from West Ham United in 2022.
00:56Hasn't really worked out for him at Leeds. He's been afforded just four first-team outings.
01:00Currently on loan at Leighton Orient and doing well, so not a huge surprise to see Orient wanting to do a permanent deal.
01:06Hull City's recruitment drive looks set to continue with the capture of midfielder Elliot Matarzo.
01:11Reports have suggested the 22-year-old is undergoing a medical ahead of a permanent switch from Monaco.
01:17And Shea Charles has obviously been recalled from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday by Southampton.
01:21Sheffield United were immediately linked with him and Blades boss Chris Wilder has come out now and confirmed
01:26that Charles is someone the club looked at in the summer and hasn't ruled out the possibility of another swoop.
01:32But he has been tight-lipped about the specifics of a lot of transfer business that the Blades are planning to do.
01:37That being said, he has made it very clear he wants an influx of new faces through the door.
01:42And speaking of new faces at Sheffield United, it's been a busy day for news surrounding the Blades.
01:47They've been linked with Everton's Michael Keane, Hertha Berlin's John Joe Kenny and Rangers playmaker Tom Lawrence.
