00:00We started St James' Park when Newcastle United's winning run came to an end.
00:05Newcastle United 1, Bournemouth 4 here at St James' Park this afternoon. Newcastle's 9-match winning run comes to a crashing end.
00:15Liam, what was your initial assessment, or assessment overall of that game?
00:22I think there's a lot of people who are ready to jump to certain conclusions. I've seen a lot of talk of people saying that was the worst performance Newcastle put in this season.
00:29What I would say is I don't think it was very good from Newcastle, but I didn't think it was.
00:34I don't think there was a huge difference between the performance levels today as to what there was on Wednesday.
00:40But I thought Wolves and Bournemouth are at a totally different level.
00:44I thought Bournemouth played Newcastle United at their own game today and I thought they put in...
00:48Andoni Irola did a proper job on it anyhow, and his players did a proper job on Newcastle United today.
00:54They pressed high, they didn't give any space, they dismantled Newcastle United's midfield structure.
01:00We've seen Tonali having to pop up on the left, Bruno dropping into the six. It was disjointed beyond what we'd ever seen before.
01:07Sunderland faced their trip to Burnley on Friday evening and came away with a point in what was a very dramatic ending.
01:14Well, hello everyone here from Turf Moor, one of the most dramatic entrances to a game of football you'll ever see in your life.
01:20Wilson is still missing two penalties, two excellent saves from James Draftwood, he's still going the same way twice.
01:26Overall, it's hard not to feel like this was a massive missed opportunity for Sunderland.
01:30They could have taken three points off a direct motion rival away from home.
01:34It really feels like it would have lit their top two hopes up, really, and we could have been moving forward with such positivity.
01:41I think we should still be, though, to be honest, because I thought that was impressive of Sunderland performance, as I've seen, since they returned to this level.
01:47Burnley started really well, I thought they exposed Sunderland in the wide areas and played some good diagonal passes.
01:53Sunderland needed Anthony Patson to make some good saves to keep them in the game.
01:56They were definitely struggling, but they started to get that press right, they started to move the ball really well.
02:01And I thought what we saw from there was an excellent game of football.
02:04And finally, Middlesbrough gave up a lead that they had at Fratton Park to lose 2-1 against Portsmouth in the Championship.
02:14For Middlesbrough, it was a 2-1 defeat away at Portsmouth.
02:17They had taken the lead in the first half, thanks to a goal from Emmanuel Laté-Lath.
02:22He could, of course, still be leaving the club in this January transfer window, but that had put them 1-0 ahead at half-time.
02:28And things were looking quite good for Borough, hopeful of a good away win, but it was not to be.
02:33A brace from Matt Ritchie in the second half put Borough to the sword, and that was that.
02:39They couldn't find a way back into it.
02:41Portsmouth, to be fair to them, have been decent enough at home.
02:45Yes, they sit just in around the renegation zone, but their home form isn't too bad.
02:50And Borough, unfortunately, succumbed to another defeat, which has left them scrambling in the play-offs.
