00:00Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi said that the controversy over the sale of ham-and-cheese sandwiches

00:10is no longer being raised, and the status of halal in the KKMAT branch in the premises of the University of Malaya is being doubted.

00:15Zahid, who is also the chairman of the Halal Development Council, said that he works closely with the Malaysian Islamic Development Office

00:23and advises that matters involving religious sensitivity are handled carefully.

00:30Zahid went on to say that the issue of the sale of ham-and-cheese must be handed over to Jakim,

00:36the Ministry of Trade in the country and Kosar Hidup, as well as the police to handle.

00:42Before this, Jakim has confirmed that the meat used in the sandwich is halal,

00:48but the sandwich with the manufacturer does not have a halal seal.

00:55Earlier, the head of UMNO, Dr. Akmal Saleh, urged the police and relevant agencies

01:00to take action to close two KKMAT branches while awaiting investigation.

01:07However, his response led to harsh criticism from the former president of MCAW, Jack Seng,

01:13who reminded Akmal to avoid politicizing the issue.
