00:00 Perekatan National Chairman Muhyiddin Yassin has every right to question the government's
00:06 treatment of the controversy over the purported supplementary order on Najib Razak's house
00:11 arrest.
00:12 This is what former Law Minister Zaid Ibrahim had to say, adding that it was pathetic to
00:17 suggest that the disappearance of Muhyiddin's son-in-law, Adlan Burhan, removed the former
00:22 Prime Minister's moral standing to question the matter.
00:25 Zaid was responding to government spokesman Fahmy Fazil, who said yesterday that Muhyiddin
00:30 had no moral standing to speak on the matter.
00:33 Fahmy said Muhyiddin should first set a good example by getting Adlan, who was allegedly
00:37 on the run, to return to Malaysia instead.
00:41 Muhyiddin had criticised Anwar's refusal to engage in the controversy over the supplementary
00:45 order from the former Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
00:48 He said the Prime Minister must explain and resolve the situation, as government leaders
00:53 appeared to be divided on the issue.
00:56 Zaid criticised what he called the government's hide-and-seek approach to the matter, saying
01:00 respect for the rulers should warrant prompt action on their decrees.
01:05 He said the government's mishandling of the issue has amounted to a challenge of the
01:08 King's absolute prerogative to issue a pardon, as well as that of the Malay rulers.
01:15 Reiterating that it was the government's responsibility to provide answers, Zaid said
01:19 the Prime Minister should take the initiative to refer the matter to the Attorney-General
01:23 for determination, who should then inform the public about the status of the decree.
