00:00because there was tons of action last night and there's a lot of things that we need to talk about
00:04a bunch of games in the NHL. We'll start with the Flyers beating the Islanders only because
00:10the Islanders, you can bury them, they're finished. They lost 5-3 at home at the horse track
00:17to Philadelphia. The Islanders came off a three-game winning streak on the road.
00:22They have this huge homestand heading into the break and they had two teams this week that were
00:27right ahead of them in the standings. If people wanted to think that they were still alive, they
00:31lost 2-0 to Ottawa the other night and then they lose 5-3 to the Flyers, a team that they usually
00:36handle at home. No, no, no. 5-3. Here's the one good thing that happened to the Islanders.
00:41They scored their first power play goal in like two months. They scored two last night. So nice
00:45job by them. Maybe they can break the dam a little bit if we want to start trying some power play
00:49points with a few of the Islander guys, but still not a good scene for them. I would sell if I was
00:54the Islanders because they have dug themselves a pretty big hole and there's like nine teams
01:00ahead of them now. Everyone else playing good in the East. Montreal, Columbus, Detroit, all these
01:05teams that they're chasing. Islanders should sell it all. The Leafs beat the Devils 4-3 in
01:09overtime in Toronto. Of course, you had Sheldon Keefe back where he used to coach. This also did snap.
01:15Devils, of course, they are the best under team in the NHL. They've hit 30 unders already this
01:22year, but last night was not one of them. Snapped the streak of seven straight unders
01:26for New Jersey as this goes over to total 4-3. Toronto gets themselves the win. Good home win
01:30for them. Not good for the Devs on the road. Elsewhere, Caps beat the Senators 1-0. The
01:36Capitals, you know, I know people probably don't want to believe it. They might be for real. And
01:43what's kind of been a cluttered Eastern Conference this year, Cap numbers are still way down the
01:47board in terms of futures. Eastern Conference, Stanley Cup, but they win every single night.
01:53And Ovi's back and he missed a few weeks. Gets the overtime winner last night only 20 away
02:01from Gretzky and the all-time goal lead. Alexander Ovechkin is a freak and he continues to get it
02:07done. And I think they're still giving you, and it's a little low for me now, you needed to get
02:12this back in October or November. I think they're giving a plus 185 for him to break the record.
02:19I need a little bit more gas than that because he's already gotten hurt once this year.
02:24But if he doesn't get hurt, I think he could do it. But I'd rather just play him a couple spots
02:29to score. Caps have won three in a row. They have now moved out to a seven-point lead and not just
02:34the Metro, but in the Eastern Conference as well. Caps, we might have to start taking them seriously
02:41here. Caps also the best Moneyline team in the NHL this year, taking you to the window. I usually
02:47give you this every week. Capitals, Canadiens, and Columbus. One, two, three in terms of plus units,
02:53Moneyline plays. They are your best bet. And the Capitals continue to do that last night. One-nothing
02:59win in Ottawa over the Sens. Tampa beat the Ducks four-three shootout down in Tampa.
03:04Tampa's won five in a row at home. They play great hockey at home. Haven't been as good on the road.
03:09That trend continues for them. Wings, the Red Wings beat Florida five-two down at Sunrise.
03:14We talked about this on Coast to Coast on Thursday. I loved the over in this game. Sure enough, it does
03:19get there. Wings got themselves a win as well. They're now eight and one in their last nine,
03:24as we know. They had the seven-game win streak, got snapped the other night at home against the
03:29Sharks, but they get back on it. And they are scoring tons of goals right now, the Detroit
03:35Red Wings. So nice win for them.
