A woman credits TikTok for starting her business - and says it would be a "devastating blow" if it were banned.

Chloe Joy Sexton, 30, from Memphis, Tennessee, downloaded the app in 2020 and started posting baking videos.

After unexpectedly losing her job in November 2020, Chloe posted a video about the situation, and followers commented saying they would buy her cookies if she shipped them.

Now Chloe sells between 3000 to 5000 cookies a week and credits TikTok for making her business possible.

Chloe said the ban would be a "devastating blow" making it a lot harder for her to advertise her business.

00:00My speech in Washington, D.C. for the fight to keep TikTok has now gotten almost 6 million
00:25views and I just wanted to thank each and every one of you.
00:28I have had some of the most incredible messages and comments left for me. Thank you so much.
00:34It means the world to me, especially in these uncertain times. As someone who was actually
00:40in the room in Supreme Court and heard the arguments, all sides of them, I wanted you
00:46to know my perspective as a creator who is represented in this case. Lots of hard questions
00:52were asked of our representatives, both the side representing ByteDance and the side
00:58representing the creators on this app. And what I can tell you is that each and every one of us
01:03left that courtroom feeling extremely optimistic. I don't say that to tell you that I know the
01:09outcome because those are just our emotions, but I want you to know how satisfying it was
01:17to watch our opposition saying that TikTok is a danger to the United States,
01:24not get the response that they thought they were going to get. And I urge you to really listen to
01:29the opposition's response from the Supreme Justices. I'm also going to use this time to
01:35tell you, because we are in uncertain times, that in my caption, you'll find lots of places to find
01:42me, no matter what happens. To have my personal story from this app and about my life get such a
01:47huge positive response is so meaningful to me in a way I can never express. I want to thank the team
01:57of lawyers who represented us as creators, the team of lawyers, especially Noelle, who represented
02:03ByteDance for the incredible job that they did. It gave me goosebumps to be in Supreme Court,
02:11such a pivotal moment in history, and see them do such an incredible job. None of us truly know
02:17what will be happening next, but the creators that you love and you have supported all along,
02:22we're not going anywhere. So make sure you seek them out anywhere. I love you, and I am so grateful
02:31for the incredible community that I have gained on this app and everywhere since beginning to
02:37tell my story and build my business. I'm nervous too, but I'm optimistic, and I am so incredibly proud
02:48of the team at TikTok and their legal representation. It has been an honor to stand beside them,
02:55and I hope to celebrate good news with them. See you soon.
