00:11A bill in the Senate is being proposed now to avoid adolescent pregnancy.

00:18It aims to prevent young people from getting pregnant early.

00:30Some groups did not support the bill because of their profession, such as Section 6.

00:41It is mandatory, standardized, to teach comprehensive sexuality education according to international standards.

02:13to promote comprehensive sexuality education in schools, communities, and youth institutions.

02:20The CSE should be compulsory to be part of education.

02:25The end goal is to normalize the discussion about adolescent sexuality and reproductive health

02:31and to remove stigma at all levels.

02:34It is also included in the bill that the CSE should be standardized

02:38and implemented in all public and private basic education institutions.

02:42It is also guided by DepEd and international standards.

02:45According to DepEd Secretary Sani Angara,

02:48the government assures that their actions are in line with the needs of the students.

02:53They understand the concerns of the CSE and some provisions of the bill.

02:59DepEd is also open to listen to speeches and statements.

03:02According to some senators,

03:04It is also written there that there are international standards.

03:08So the interpretation there is also anchored in UNESCO, the World Health Organization, and Western concepts.

03:17So that is also their concern.
