00:00Police arrest impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk-yool at his residence in Seoul on
00:05Wednesday, January 15.
00:08This weeks after investigators first attempted to arrest Yoon on January 3 after his short-lived
00:13martial law declaration last December.
00:15The warrant investigators secured for his arrest is the first ever issued against an
00:19incumbent South Korean president.
00:22His presidential motorcade left the residence and later arrived at the Corruption Investigation
00:26Office for high-ranking officials.
00:29Yoon's lawyers have argued attempts to detain Yoon are illegal and are designed to publicly
00:33humiliate him.
00:35In a pre-recorded message, Yoon says he submitted himself for questioning to avoid any violence
00:40but says his actions are not an endorsement of what he calls an illegal investigation.
00:46Yoon has been suspended from his position since December 14 but still remains in office.
00:51South Korea's Constitutional Court is deliberating over whether to uphold his impeachment and
00:55permanently remove him from office.
