00:00It's a dream for any young designer to showcase their work on a global stage.
00:05And for the third year in a row, Chinese fashion platform Labelhood
00:09has brought a selection of new Chinese design talent to Harrods
00:13with jewelry, ceramics, porcelain and clothes for sale.
00:17The theme of this year's exhibition is Your Spiritual Homeland,
00:20which celebrates reunions transcending cultural boundaries.
00:24It also makes the connection between the Chinese designers' roots
00:27and their lives studying fashion in London.
00:30This brand is handmade from a very, very new brand called Gigi in Red.
00:36He just graduated from Central Saint Martin last year.
00:40We work with more than 95% Chinese independent designers.
00:45Over 70% study here.
00:49So London is definitely a starting point for most Chinese designers.
00:55This includes Oscar Wong, who studied at Chelsea Art School.
00:59He created a series of five plates inspired by Wu Xiang, or Chinese Five Elements,
01:04with an abstract snake eye for Chinese New Year for his brand, 1300.
01:09It's been amazing. I mean, we opened the first day and we are sold out.
01:13This is the final set left.
01:15So I'm very happy to have engaged with a lot of new customers
01:20and people who kind of share the passion I have for porcelain.
01:24Harrods is such a legendary department store.
01:28And then the way that they promote fashion is really the best stage for any designers.
01:35Katrina Wu uses gold and silver embroidery techniques in her clothing
01:39and mini purses for her brand, Tan Jin Dan.
01:42I used to study in London College of Fashion.
01:45I got lots of inspiration in London.
01:47And I went back to China.
01:49Me and my partner, we saw this beautiful, beautiful Chinese traditional craftsmanship.
01:54Incorporating techniques of Chinese master craftsmen from her hometown of Ningbo,
01:58Katrina hopes she can inspire more young people to study the craft.
02:02We use some shining fabric, and also we put lots of different textured beads on the top.
02:08So it's more modern and shining, but also you can see the Chinese traditional history inside.
02:14For Chinese designers, this means a lot more hope for them to get onto the international stage
02:20and also to build a bridge between Chinese designers and consumers.
02:24Hopefully their creativity and their designs can be recognized by more people.
02:30The pop-up shop is open till the 21st of January.
