What appeared to be small fire tornadoes were spotted Friday night as the Palisades Fire blazed through the San Fernando Valley in California.

Friday evening, new evacuations were ordered as the eastern side of the Palisades Fire spread, nearing Interstate 405 and The Getty.

Firefighters raced Saturday to cut off the spreading wildfires before potentially strong winds return.
