00:00Now that the Philippine Sambo Federation President Paolo Tancontian has won his position until 2028,
00:07what are his plans to make their sport even more popular in the country?
00:13Let's hear it from Paolo Salamatin.
00:17The Philippine Sambo Federation has no plans to rest
00:20from the leadership of their President Paolo Tancontian
00:24for the upcoming programs from this year until 2028.
00:28One of them is to join the major tournaments like the World Beach Sambo Championship,
00:34World Championship, Asian Championship and Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games or IMAG.
00:40Aside from this, Tancontian also distributed to PTV Sports,
00:44which is the most targeted by their federation,
00:46to find new generations of Filipino Samboists
00:49using their expanded grassroots program throughout the Philippines.
00:54We will continue our grassroots program that we started last year in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
01:02We started last year in December in Davao City,
01:08and maybe here in Tagaytay, Baguio, Benguet, Visayas, Cebu and Dumaguete.
01:20Those are our plans.
01:23And in Mindanao, this March, we will do a part 2 of the continuation of what we started.
01:34And our grassroots is very effective because most of our athletes are from the province.
01:42To make this kind of program a reality,
01:45Tancontian also thanked all the members of the Philippine Sambo Federation
01:50who were a great help to be re-elected as president of their group.
01:54First of all, I would like to thank all the members of the Philippine Sambo Federation
01:59for re-electing me for the next four years.
02:05And tomorrow, we will go to work,
02:08meeting with our coaches.
02:11This is our first meeting for 2025.
02:14Sambo is one of the sports that the country often gets
02:18medals in local and international tournaments.
