00:00In Caracas, Venezuela, the World Festival of Anti-Fascist International began on Thursday.
00:05More than 2,000 delegates from five continents participate in the first day of the event
00:10that started with a speech by the Executive Vice President, Delsi RodrĂguez.
00:13Details for our special envoy, Juno Zunera.
00:19The La Carlota Convention Center received the delegates with music and dance, but in
00:24her opening speech, Executive Vice President Delsi RodrĂguez warned of the importance
00:29of the Anti-Fascist International.
00:31It is the time that humanity has called to fight together against fascism.
00:38There is no other moment, there is no other day, because if we postpone this struggle
00:43for one day only, there might be no more humanity, no peoples left.
00:47Only the corporations will remain that have taken over the states and the lives of human
00:51beings.
00:57The Anti-Fascist International initiative emerged in November 2024 with the aim of creating
01:02a powerful global structure against fascism, neo-fascism and Zionism.
01:07The festival today represents continuity.
01:10Seeing comrades that we met in November being able to exchange, see what different groups
01:14have been up to, the different solidarity activities.
01:17In Britain we've organized a protest outside the Guardian in solidarity with Palestine
01:22and Venezuela, so it's been good to tell people about that.
01:25According to Delsi RodrĂguez, Trump is a promoter of international fascism.
01:30Hence, beyond Venezuela, others took the anti-fascist event by heart.
01:38Fascism is a threat.
01:40There is a threat in the north that makes fun of changing names that have been in place
01:44for more than 500 years, like the Gulf of Mexico.
01:54The World Anti-Fascist Festival is an organization to generate the tools that help us defend
01:59ourselves and resist or combat this attempt.
02:06For Mexico, the solution is turning southwards, says Garcia.
02:09In the afternoon, the festival established working groups for various sectors, from youth
02:14to social movements, from native peoples to the group of parliamentarians.
02:19One was dedicated to women in the anti-fascist struggle, building an emancipatory feminism.
02:24We have been in a meeting trying to advance, let's say, from feminisms, which are multiple,
02:32which are plural, which are diverse, and that we are in all territories and on all continents,
02:37in what way from our political action as feminists we are going to contribute and we are going
02:41to fight against fascism and neo-fascism around the world.
02:48Another sub-event was the Third International Communication Congress that achieved concrete
02:52results, as its participants explain.
02:57The main proposal and conclusion of this first day is the creation of a network of popular
03:02communicators to fight against fake news, to spread our truths in the face of the attack
03:07of imperialism.
03:10Despite partly long trips to get to Caracas, participants were optimistic and grateful.
03:16So I'm very happy and congratulations and my compliments to have organized this first
03:20day that we are tired because we arrived in the night at three in the morning, but very,
03:26very happy.
03:27So thank you so much to the Venezuelan government and to this whole organization.
03:33It has been a pleasure for me and it's a pleasure for me to be here.
03:36The World Festival for the Anti-Fascist International for a New World will continue until January
03:4111.
