00:00Do you think there needs to be more support for Sheffield's steel industry?
00:04Oh that's a tricky one now because that's a sort of international question because
00:09I mean the steel industry is an international thing, it's America, India and Sheffield.
00:15Maybe there should, maybe it's difficult to tell.
00:19Do you think there should be more support for Sheffield's steel industry?
00:22Definitely. I think that there may come a time when we're going to need that steel
00:28like a lot more other things in this country and when we let it go we've let it go we'll
00:32not be able to fetch it back again. And do you have any special interest in the steel industry?
00:36Yes I used to work there for about 23 years at British Steel at Rodrum and a lot of that's gone
00:43now and some of it provided really good employment and it's a product I think we're always going to
00:50need. Would you like to see more support for Sheffield's steel industry? Absolutely yeah
00:56Sheffield Steel's the heart of South Yorkshire isn't it? So yeah absolutely love to see more
01:01support for it. Do you think there should be more support for Sheffield's steel industry?
01:08Well I look at it this way, they've got, they've had enough support that they've not took advantage
01:16of it. So they want and want and want and it should be government owned like that because
01:22that's how it was in the past, government owned steel industry and that's where it's all gone
01:29wrong. You've got to earn the living there and it's just not working. Does it need to be
01:33renationalised then? Yes yes just to keep it running. Do you think there should be more support for
01:38Sheffield's steel industry? I would say yes it's been a long time that we've had like a big industry
01:45here and it seems to be reducing rapidly and I don't think it's locally owned as well it tends
01:53to be sort of other countries that are owning it so I don't know if it's feeding back into
01:58the actual city.
