00:00Hello and a very good morning to you on this frosty Thursday morning with the
00:04risk of ice and further snow showers. Warnings are in force. Northern Scotland,
00:10the far north of Northern Ireland and some snow showers have been running down
00:14towards Wales. North West England. Now through the day it remains cold wherever
00:18you are. Still a strong wind along this eastern side up towards the Northern
00:22Isles and those snow showers keep on falling across northern parts of
00:26Scotland. So further accumulations likely here as we head through Thursday
00:30and into Thursday evening. Elsewhere the winds fall a little lighter. So first
00:34thing this morning if you are stepping out yes you can see where most of these
00:38snow showers are particularly towards the North Highlands of Scotland running
00:42down the western side Northern Ireland. Isle of Man seeing some wintry showers
00:46and they're moving in across Liverpool Bay, Cheshire, the far south of Lancashire,
00:51the western side of Wales as well. Now towards the southeast an overhang of
00:56cloud but we've lost that rain and snow and those winds remain strong along this
01:00east coast here as we head through this morning into the afternoon. Any freezing
01:04fog patches only slowly lifting through the day as well. However for most it's a
01:10dry morning. It's very cold outside after a severe frost overnight and there will
01:15be some sunshine around. Always more clouds across North West England as well
01:19as Wales with those showers running in. Some dry skies across central and
01:23southern parts of Northern Ireland with some sunshine. Showers continue along
01:26the coastline and these showers will be frequent across Caithness, Sutherland,
01:30Aberdeenshire where that morning remains in force throughout the day.
01:34Temperatures then struggling. It's a cold day 2 to 4 degrees Celsius sub-zero
01:39where you see lying snow. Now through this evening and overnight temperatures
01:43will fall even lower. There'll be clear skies across many areas. These showers
01:48across the north, snow showers at that, will tend to fade away away from the
01:52northern isles overnight and it's really the lighter wind inland, some
01:56clearer skies where we could see temperatures across the snowfields of
02:00Scotland down towards the far north of England around minus 14 to minus 16
02:04degrees Celsius. Townsend City is then sub-zero as well. However into Friday
02:09morning, yes it will be a frosty start to the day. Still one or two mist and fog
02:13patches but more cloud arrives towards the southwest bringing with it some
02:17outbreaks of rain. As that rain encounters the cold air there's a chance
02:21as it weakens we could see some sleet and snow but it is a weak feature just
02:26hovering across these parts not making many inroads eastwards or northwards. So
02:31your outlook as we head through Saturday, a lot of clouds towards the west, some
02:35brighter skies further east after yet again a very cold day and there could be
02:40a wintry mix where you see any rain. I'll see you later.
