00:25Skomos said it is confusing and irresponsible to announce policies without clear directions
00:30and guidelines that are fair and transparent.
00:33It said a delay in implementation would lead to more doctors leaving government service.
00:39Skomos chairman Dr Timothy Cheng said the second announcement during the 2025 budget
00:45was extremely vague with no details as to how and when the new rates would kick in.
00:50He said, to his knowledge, hospitals have not received any directive on this yet and
00:56budget proposals are normally implemented effective immediately or on January 1 of the
01:01following year, unless specified otherwise.
