00:00There has been an earthquake in Tibet and China, what will you say?

00:09I want to clarify that what is happening right now is news that we have gotten that at around

00:169 o'clock in the morning we have received information of a major earthquake of magnitude

00:22of 7.1 that is taking place in Shigatse, in the so-called Tibet Autonomous Region under

00:28the occupation of Tibet, under the occupation of China at the moment.

00:32So this is what has happened and we are looking into major destructions that are taking place,

00:38we are looking into death of, as of today, as of now, about 54 Tibetans who have passed

00:45away.

00:46We are hearing a lot about, lots of casualties that are taking place at the moment.

00:50So this is what we have known at the moment.

00:53So yeah.

00:54What kind of situation is there right now?

00:57So I mean, so far we are getting information from China's state media, we are getting information

01:05from the social media where Tibetans are uploading videos, there are Chinese uploading videos,

01:12so this is exactly where we are getting information from.

01:15And I could immediately draw similarity with the major earthquake of 7.1 magnitude that

01:24took place in 2010 in Tibet when we had about more than 2,500 people who had died due to

01:32the earthquake.

01:33So what my concern is at the moment is that whenever there is any natural calamities that

01:39takes place within Tibet under occupation of China is the lack of humanitarian support

01:45and aids from China which is leading to more victimization of Tibetans.

01:52And one thing that we fail to draw our attention to is the reality that what is the actual

01:59cause of such a major natural calamity.

02:02And if you're looking into earthquake, it's entirely because of the excessive amount of

02:07mining that is taking place in Tibet under the occupation of China.

02:12And apart from that, the construction of major dams that is taking place.

02:16And just three days back we've heard of the Ministry of External Affairs of India clarifying

02:22about the huge hydro dam that is being built under the Chinese Communist Party and how

02:28they are putting in lots of investment in that.

02:32And those are all the reasons leading to such a disaster causing deaths of Tibetans without

02:40any support from the Chinese Communist Party.

02:44So for now I'm very concerned about the rising number of Tibetans who have passed away and

02:50the loved ones who are going through lots of pain because of this particular disaster.
