00:00I'm with Danuta here we're outside Aldi which has been rated the cheapest
00:04supermarket again in 2024. Danuta, why do you like shopping at Aldi?
00:09First of all I like it because prices are very good. Prices are good. Always. Fresh products and what can I say more, for Christmas there's lots of different choices which you can pick like for special edition stuff like that.
00:27There's so many good speciality, you know the specially selected products as well?
00:32Yes. Such good quality? Yes. And a good price as well. So will you continue shopping at Aldi?
00:40Of course I will. Do you go anywhere else really? Any other supermarkets much? Yes, I go to different supermarkets. I'm going to Sainsbury's as well, sometimes to Midgley and Polish shop as well because I'm from Poland.
00:53You need those ingredients as well? Yes, so it's not only Aldi but I can say this is number one which is a very good price.
01:00What do you think other supermarkets can do better to be as competitive as Aldi?
01:06Price. Price. Everybody looking for price at this time. Of course. Thank you so much.
01:13Izzy, you like shopping at Aldi. It's won the cheapest supermarket 2024 again. Is that why you like coming here?
01:20Well, I've just got one reason. I'm from New Zealand if you know what's New Zealand. So we've got the same supermarket market called Countdown right there.
01:28Countdown in New Zealand is it? Yes, that's right. So this is like the same as competitively for like families if you have a family.
01:34So you've got the best option around here. It's going to be Aldi. So in New Zealand it's the same like Countdown and stuff.
01:40So yeah, it's mostly reachable and we've got every branch. It's like every reachable area. So you've got one Aldi here. Local, yeah.
01:47And a couple of streets down there on the right. We've got one in the park for you. So yeah, Italy, local labels and for the families and friends, yeah.
01:54What do you think of the food and the products?
01:57Well, as compared to dairy farming, I would rate them 8 out of 10.
02:028 out of 10. Good quality products?
02:04Yeah, you can say that that's good quality. And fruits and vegetables, I would rate them 7.5 out of 10.
02:12Oh, thank you so many thanks for your time.
02:15Why did you enjoy coming to Aldi? It's where you can again, the cheapest supermarket.
02:19Okay, well I shop at Aldi. This is one that I come to, but there's another one in Wolverhampton that I also go to.
02:24And it is because you can get what you want at a good price. But it's also their products are actually sometimes better than some of the other supermarkets.
02:34So there are particular favourites that I like to get in here. Their pies, which I don't buy that often, but their pies and their bean burgers, spicy bean burgers.
02:42Yes, in the veggie section.
02:43Yeah, and actually their veggie section has become a lot better.
02:47Plant menu.
02:48Yeah, yeah, a lot, lot better. There's a lot more choice in this than anywhere else. So yeah, I think this is a good place to come.
02:54The meat is normally relatively good. My son will only come here and get the beef, beef, beef curry. He won't go to anywhere else.
03:00Um, yeah, so your choices are really good. And the prices.
03:04The prices are actually a bit, and obviously that's why it's been rated the fourth year in a row cheapest supermarket.
03:09What do the other supermarkets have to do to kind of be, to kind of be on the same level?
03:13I don't know, because a lot of the supermarkets are doing their thing. They've all got their cards and they've all got their discount prices on the basis that you've got your card.
03:20I mean, my son actually works for Tesco.
03:24Scandalous.
03:25But it's also about the location. So this is a good location for anyone coming into the town.
03:31Whereas Tesco is kind of a bit more outside. It's not on the way to the shops. It's a bit off the beaten track.
03:38And also you can only get the good prices if you've got the Tesco card.
03:42And if they're in stock, that's another big problem is not having enough stock in the other supermarkets.
03:49And I very rarely find a shelf empty. Go to other supermarkets, you will find a shelf empty.
03:54So yeah, nothing really beats Aldi. But then it's where it comes from.
03:58And it comes from Europe, it comes from Germany, and they are the better providers in the sense of they know their markets.
04:05And they cater to their markets, not to their profit.
04:08Absolutely good. Thank you very much.
