La United Cup 2025 a rendu son verdict ce dimanche matin. La Pologne d'Iga Swiatek a été dominée par les Etats-Unis de Coco Gauff et Taylor Fritz. Dans un premier temps, Gauff a réalisé une grosse perf' contre Swiatek avant que Fritz ne fasse plier Hubert Hurkacz. Vainqueurs en 2023, les Américains récidivent et s'offrent un nouveau titre. Il faut dire que le duo Gauff/Fritz permettait d'avoir de très hautes ambitions. Vainqueurs de la Pologne, les États-Unis remportent donc leur deuxième United Cup. La Pologne de Swiatek et Hurkacz, comme l'année précédente, doit se contenter d'une place de finaliste. Avec ce trophée et ses quatre victoires en cinq matches, Taylor Fritz empoche 250 points au classement ATP, pareil pour Gauff, en WTA après ses cinq succès. Les deux joueurs vont pouvoir se tourner vers l'Open d'Australie avec beaucoup de confiance.

02:10Yeah, it means a lot. I think for me, you know, when they have events like this,

02:20And you also got MVP. How proud are you to get that title as well?
02:25I didn't know it was a thing, so I wasn't expecting anything like that.
02:29But probably the only time you know you can get MVP in tennis, so that's pretty cool.
02:33So I think it's something, one of the trophies I might actually leave outside the box.

02:50So how was your overall experience this week?
02:53Yeah, I think it was just super special. Again, I've said it numerous times,
02:57just representing our country, being here the first year, the inaugural year,
03:01and having such a great time and not being able to bring it back.
03:04Last year definitely created a fire in the team.
03:07And having Fritz, Coco, such a special team and bringing it home,
03:12I think it was just an overall impressive week for both of them.
03:15And how proud are you of your teammates as well?
03:17Yeah, my teammates were awesome. I couldn't ask for a better team.
03:21And I'm glad they gave me the best setup I could possibly ask for.
03:25So Taylor, you got through some really tough matches this week.
03:28How pleased are you with your level?
03:31I'm pretty happy, I'd say, with how I'm playing.
03:33There's definitely parts of my game I wish I could be doing better,
03:36parts that I think I'm doing well.
03:39But I'm really happy with how I fought through a lot of those matches.
03:43I think it would be easy to mentally check out sometimes in those situations.
03:49So it's awesome. It's the first tournament of the year.
03:51I'm already digging through these matches.

03:58Your level was incredible.
04:00Did it give you that extra boost having a team on the bench and all that support?
04:05Yeah, for sure.
04:06That was one of the reasons why I wanted to play this event.
04:08It looked so much fun the first year when they won.
04:11Just having, when you're down a break or something,
04:14and just having that positivity on the bench makes a lot of the difference.
04:19And even this boat right now is helping me get through this.
04:23How pleased are you with your level overall this week?
04:27Yeah, I mean, I can't ask for a better way to start the year.
04:30I'm really happy.
04:31I put in a lot of work on the off-season, pre-season.
04:34So I'm glad it's paying off and hopefully continue to pay off.

04:40How does this rank in terms of career achievements up there?
04:43I think for sure, I mean, I only got to play one match.
04:48But overall, I think this is something that's going to be top of the memory bank.
