00:00In Kadiwa Stores, where you can buy Php 36 per kilo of rice.

00:11Princess Alan can now buy Php 36 worth of rice in more Kadiwa Stores this Sunday.

00:20According to Agriculture Secretary Francisco T. Laurel Jr.,

00:25the sale of Php 40 worth of rice started at two nearby stores in Metro Manila last week.

00:30But the DA did not announce it because it was just a trial.

00:34He was positive about the public's acceptance, so the agency expanded.

00:38The Php 40 worth of rice is imported rice.

00:41It's crushed, but it's white.

00:43Php 36 per kilo.

00:45It's more affordable than Php 40 worth of rice for all.

00:50According to T. Laurel, this will give more to the consumers.

00:55People are looking for it because it's being sold for Php 36.

00:59This week, we will finalize and roll out.

01:03Since it was successful and people liked it in selected areas,

01:12we have to plan how to roll it out and ensure that we have enough stocks.

01:18In order to lower the price of rice and to stop the farmers from buying,

01:22the Agriculture Department will set a maximum suggested retail price for imported rice.

01:28There should be no Php 60 worth of imported rice in the market.

01:32Php 60 worth of imported rice is already profiteering, in my opinion.

01:36The DA will cooperate with rice stakeholders,

01:39Department of Trade and Industry, DILG,

01:42Investigation and Internal Revenue Bureau, and BNP.

01:47Clearly, it's in the price act or in the profiteering angle.

01:51We will use the consequences of labeling as profiteering.

01:59Alang Princess Fargat will release the MSRP before the end of January.
