Investigators have suspended efforts to arrest impeached
South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol after a six-hour stand off with security services.

Police were also blocked by hundreds of his supporters who vowed to obstruct his arrest with their lives.

00:38In the wake of the failed attempt to detain President Yun, his supporters have gathered
00:44in even greater numbers near his residence to try and prevent any further potential attempt
00:50to detain him before the warrant expires on Monday.
00:54The mood was not so celebratory for the majority of South Koreans who support the insurrection
01:00investigation as well as impeachment hearings at the country's Constitutional Court.
01:07On Friday, the Constitutional Court held its second procedural hearing into whether Yun's
01:13impeachment by the National Assembly was lawful.
01:17The court has 180 days to decide whether the country's brief bout of martial law amounts
01:24to an abuse of power or an act of governance in a crisis, as argued by President Yun's
01:31legal team.
