00:00You made it sound pretty simple for getting that reaction decision, was it as easy as you just said it was?
00:04I think on the day, no, probably not. We felt really outdone by having everyone seeing obviously
00:09what actually happened but you can't do anything about it, you can't change a rough decision so
00:12there's no point you know dwelling over it, just move on. How surprised were you when it was given?
00:17Obviously there was a bit of a pause before you did point to the spot, you felt the contact, you
00:20felt you knew more than anyone else? Yeah that's the thing, obviously I felt it hit my back and go
00:24out so I just turned around getting ready to defend the corner and like you said he
00:28didn't give it straight away so obviously their players have got in his head and he's given into
00:33it and given a penalty but it is what it is now. You said you had to calm down after the night but
00:38was it any conversations today to make sure you got something today, make sure you weren't hard
00:41done by again? Yeah I think especially at half-time once we got through that half-time the way we did
00:46with nil-nil, we felt to be fair the way it went we could have nicked it so it was just about
00:51you know not giving anything silly away and yeah good decision making. It did seem like there's a
00:55lot of determination, you mentioned O'Dell's goal line clearance, you and Penhall heading
00:59absolutely everything today so was that determination clear to see? Yeah when you come
01:03to places like this it's what you need from everyone no matter what position you're playing
01:06and like I said another clean sheet we're really happy with it and we move on to Shrewsbury now.
01:10Although it's only one point over Christmas period it's still on when you look at performances it's
01:14not bad, good displays against Wrexham and Birmingham were both flying high. Yeah I think
01:18the second half at Wrexham is probably what let us down, I know obviously we were unlucky with
01:21the penalty decision but I think the second half performance wasn't really good enough so it was
01:25good to come out the second half today started really well and I thought yeah we could have scored
01:29early in the second half. Is it about proving points, proving what you are capable of this season despite
01:34hit and miss periods? Yeah definitely I think we've shown in glimpses what we're capable of doing
01:39Red in a way, Huddersfield a way, Charlton a way here, it's now just about improving our home form
01:45which that's what we've all said in there we need to do to get to where we want to get to.
01:49I suppose this section the right position to attack that home game to get off to the perfect start?
01:54Yeah 100% confidence will be high after the last couple of performances obviously even though we
01:58got done by the decision at Wrexham but we can definitely take confidence from it and yeah
02:03really go and attack the Shrewsbury game. And how much do you enjoy learning under the gaff, I think we
02:06spoke to when he was first appointed but to actually work on doing weekday in day out how good is it?
02:11Yeah it's brilliant for me obviously playing the same position all the experience
02:14all the experiences he's had to pass on his knowledge to me it's been brilliant yeah.
02:18Any advice in particular that stood out that sort of changed your game slightly? Probably nothing
02:23in particular just all around his all-around knowledge about the game and what I can improve
02:27on and what I'm doing well and what I can improve on it's helped me out massively.
02:32Do you think a Manchester United legend would be helping you out in this way? I know it's a funny
02:37game and it's funny how it works but yeah it's been brilliant so far. And just obviously last
02:41season you've played in and out and periods you did have some runs in the scene but to be
02:44in pretty much every game this year you know how much have you enjoyed that responsibility?
02:48Yeah it's what I wanted to be honest with you what I should have had really last year
02:53but yeah I know it's been it's been good playing every game can't ask for anything more.
02:57Yeah how pleasing is to have it now and to sort of be rewarded for performing week in week out?
03:01Yeah I think that's what football is about and if you're doing well you should stay in the team so
03:05yeah it's been good.
