00:04Derbyshire Police are continuing their investigation into the death of an 18-year-old and officers
00:08are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
00:12East Midlands Ambulance Service has contacted police at 8.20pm on Saturday to report that
00:17a man had been stabbed on Rose Avenue in Ilkeston.
00:21When officers arrived at the scene, an 18-year-old man was found with a stab wound.
00:25He sadly died nearby on Heanorow just before 9pm.
00:29Police are appealing to the public for any information that will assist with their enquiries.
00:33In particular, they are seeking CCTV footage or doorbell footage and any dashcam footage
00:39between the times of 7pm and 9pm in the areas of Heanorow, Rose Avenue, Summerfields Way,
00:46Kedlestal Drive and Peverell Drive.
00:49Seven people are currently under arrest and remain in police custody.
00:53Four 17-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
00:57A 52-year-old man, a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl have all been arrested
01:01on suspicion of assisting an offender.
01:06The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow in Derbyshire this week,
01:10warning of possible travel disruption and power cuts.
01:13The warning, which runs from 9am on Wednesday to 3am on Thursday, is in place as forecasters
01:18say that heavy and persistent snow may bring disruption on Wednesday and into Wednesday night.
01:23The Met Office says there is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services,
01:28such as mobile phone coverage, might be affected.
01:31There is also a small chance that some rural communities could be cut off.
01:34They add there is also a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles
01:39and passengers.
01:40The Met Office said,
01:41A band of rain, in association with a deep low pressure system, moves in from the west,
01:46pushes east on Wednesday.
01:48This is likely to turn to snow as it moves into cold air across the northern half of
01:51the UK.
01:532-5cm and locally in some places 10cm of snow accumulation are possible, with 10-15cm and
02:00locally 20-25cm over hills with significant drifting due to strong winds.
