00:00Analysts believe that the PAS's organized rally to be held on January 6th is not about

00:07securing justice for former Prime Minister Najib Razak, but rather a strategic move to

00:12gain political mileage.

00:14Akademi Nusantara's Azmi Hassan said the event was PAS's effort to show solidarity

00:19with Najib after Abno faced criticisms for failing to manage the addendum issue despite

00:24being part of the government coalition.

00:27PAS's rally at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya will be held on the same day that

00:31the Court of Appeal hears Najib's application on a purported supplementary decree placing

00:36him under house arrest.

00:38Last Saturday, Resatu's Wanita Chief Mas Ermiyati Samsudin said the party would not

00:43stand in the way of any of its members who wish to attend the rally.

00:47Meanwhile, University Technology Malaysia's Mazlan Ali said the rally could be aimed at

00:52securing the support of Amno members for Perikatan Nasional, while University Technology

00:57Mara's Arif Aizuddin Azlan described the rally as a golden opportunity for PAS to outshine

01:03Amno in championing the issue at hand.

01:06However, University Science Islam Malaysia's Azmi Nidzah views the participation of PAS

01:11and Resatu as an indication of political maturity and tolerance.

01:17On Friday, PAS Secretary General Takyudin Hassan called for a strong turnout to send

01:22a message about upholding the rule of law amid Najib's claim that the government failed

01:26to comply with a supposed supplementary royal command on his house arrest.
